I had one of the best meals in town with my friend Anita Prentice. Hassie, the owner, sat with us while she told us her history. The oxtails are so wonderful, with mashed potatoes and gravy. Corn bread, collards, and mac & cheese are all so good and southern.

After months of searching for a cozy breakfast place we came upon Granny's Kitchen. Bingo! We'll be back often and might have to return for lunch today so we can try the fried chicken and the peach cobbler (Granny came out to introduce herself but had to return to the kitchen to finish the cobbler). This is a neighborhood place... More

We had a hankering for homemade southern food. We headed to Granny's. The restaurant reminds one of someone's home, very bright and very clean. We both ordered the fried chicken meal. We both ordered northern beans. I ordered rice and my wife mashed potatoes. Corn bread came with it. The food came out quickly and it was a picture of... More

I have been telling my husband how much I wanted to try eating here. Finally, today my husband surprised me and took me there. I had the fried chicken, lima beans, sweet potatoes and corn bread. My husband had the oxtail, sweet potatoes, rice&gravy and corn bread. The only thing I can say about the food is that there was... More

Very slow service. Over an hour for breakfast. The food was cold. The bacon was rancid. We could see in the kitchen and they were handling the food with bare hands directly on the counter. Do not eat here.

I'll ditto all the previous reviews. Just a great place, a gem, rich with history, home cooking away from home. The owner was so gracious - she explained her family's long ties to the Fort Pierce community which truly enriched our experience. We'll be back!

On a recent professional luncheon our group chose GRANNY'S . The theme was Black History Month, the food was classic and the speakers (elected officials Larry Lee and Kim Johnson) were motivational. "Granny" herself addressed the 60 or so members with a humble thanks for doing business successfully for 50 CONTINUOUS YEARS at the same location. It is no wonder:... More

Avenue D in Ft. Pierce is not on the tourist maps and also not generally someplace that you would think to visit. Granny's Kitchen is the exception. If you're looking for soul food prepared fresh daily (arrive early, they run out!), this is the place to go. In business since 1974, a local favorite is ox tails which they prepare... More

While in downtown Ft Pierce my wife and I wanted to get lunch but did not want the typical cafe with wraps and fries. After a search of the area on Trip Advisor we found a restaurant that has only a few reviews but most were excellent. The restaurant is located in an old part of town and you could... More

if you're looking for satisfying, Southern, home cooking; Granny's is the place! Friendly, folksy atmosphere. A true family restaurant, where the owner stops by the table to introduce herself. This was our first visit; it won't be our last. Extremely reasonable for amount and quality of food. The Service, atmosphere, Fried Chicken and Corn Bread took me back in time,... More
