Mr Bones is a one of a kind family owned and operated business. We have lived and worked on Anna Maria Island since 1992. We have a loyal following of locals, and Snowbirds (as well as our snowbirds from across the pond). If you are looking for the same old corporate American vacation cuisine, you will NOT find it here. All of our food is actually home made in our little 40 seat restaurant. We are the only island restaurant with a separate menu for our vegan friends, so family's can go out to eat together. If you don't feel like eating out, after a long day on the beach or on the boat, "take out" is available. For groups of 15 + see our catering menu on our website.

You know you are in trouble with the sign that says no condiments are needed because their food is seasoned perfectly. And that the "chef" was trained in New Orleans. Did they mean to say "trained in Newark"? My wife had what they called chicken...More

The ribs were tough and the bbq chicken was bland. The rice was the same pot of rice for “vegetarian” fried rice or the Bryani rice that there is an upcharge for. They just added some raisins and coconut. There’s no New Orleans flavor on...More

We have been going here for years and the food never disappointed. We love the beer coffin and they just count bottles on your table when totaling up the bill. Great food and you gotta love a place that says " Don't even ask for...More

It's a mixed bag with their decorating style, but I think they are trying for a funky New Orleans vibe. Just a sort of hole in the wall small restaurant. They greet you with please take a drink from our coffin which was sort of...More

Put your name in for a table at the counter and grab a beer from the giant coffin shaped cooler. We tried everything on the menu and it was truly the best BBQ we have ever had. The shrimp and grits were out of this...More

For 15 years, we have driven past this seedy little place and finally tried it. It was very good. It is not just a bbq place, but a bbq place with Indian, Jamaican and Cajun influences. The sauces and flavorings are quite tasty and they...More

Hi Paul, Mr Bones is quite small so may be best for you to ring ahead (941) 778-6614 if you are a party of 5, though you should get in okay. Plenty on menu for non-alcoholic diners as I am one myself! (Always the... More
