Whenever we visit friends in Jensen Beach we breakfast at Jan’s. Don’t let the wait time put you off, it is usually about half that amount of time, and the cottages around the corner provide a browsing opportunity while you wait. Service is outstanding, Bloodys are to die for, and the house hash is second to none. When in the hash Benedict you can be sure you won’t have to eat again that day! O letters are huge and veges are fresh, and the pancakes are light and fluffy and if they are in the special slot, you will think you died and went to heaven. Great experience every time we go.

Spent a Sunday morning in Jensen Beach to walk around the art festival. Decided to grab some breakfast a Jan’s Place. They were quite busy with the festival crowd but we had a table in about 20 minutes. Not much in atmosphere but great food and service. We had a bottle of Champagne which, while nothing fancy was quite food and fairly priced at $18.00. Great omelette’s and hash browns with toast or English muffin. The bakery food looked amazing but we opted to pass as we were full from breakfast. We will definitely come back.

My wife and I went to Jan’s on Saturday Jan 4, the last day of our vacation. While the street was very busy we found a street parking spot right in front of the doors! Even though busy, we immediately got a table. Service was quick, and the delivery of our order was even faster! We got our orders perfectly filled in under 5 minutes! Bottomless coffee was also a hit! My wife had bacon crispy and eggs, and I had the famous Neptune Omelette, a 6 egg omelette with plentiful shrimp, scallops and crab, topped with an incredible lobster sherry sauce! The hash browns were perfect for both our meals. The food was great! The owner visited us a couple of times to see how we were doing! We were pleased and will definitely return!!

Wish I could have sat because everyone from the person who took my call in to the people that passed us while waiting for our order to be complete were super nice. We had breakfast and everything was delicious and still hot! We got pancakes, cinnamon roll French toast (highly recommended), breakfast chimichanga (huge if you’re looking for a very filling start to your day), French toast, and bagel breakfast sandwich, and country fried steak also the potato pancakes come highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back.

Food was good but, no more than 20 min after getting our meals the waitress dropped the check on the table. Didn’t ask if everything was good and didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. Just told us “Whenever you’re ready. No rush”. Well, I wanted a cappuccino. But since you never asked, how could you have known? Left and went to Starbucks for coffee. Nothing worse than driving to have a nice breakfast out and dropping almost $50, just to be rushed out the door 15-20 minutes later. Our total time spent there was 40 min, tops. Maybe don’t rush your customers out of your restaurant. And if that’s NOT your intention, maybe re-train the wait staff.

We went for a late breakfast on a Monday. Sat outside and felt comfortable despite covid. Servers wore masks which was appreciated and tables outside were properly spaced. Service was friendly and helpful. House made corn beef hash was fantastic and the home made breads were a real treat. Fresh hot coffee and well made breakfasts will have us coming back often. We saw other dishes come out. Pancakes were creative and the burgers looked really good. We plan to come back again and again and work our way through the menu of breakfast and lunch items. Server also told us they have a dinner pick up program which we hope to try. Oh yeah, home made soups looked awesome too. Can’t wait to go back

We were only in town for a few days but we ended up at Jan’s place twice for brunch. It was a late breakfast really but the portions are so large we skipped lunch. This place isn’t fancy. It’s large and clean, but the decor is like an old diner or small town family place(which it is). It’s only open for breakfast and lunch. They have a large menu of breakfast favorites. Everything we tried was excellent and so much was clearly home made. You have to get the cinnamon bun French toast. Delicious. Prices seem a little high for the area and atmosphere, but the quality and quantity of food make it a bargain really.

Service, top notch. Food fantastic! Management 1st class. Why? Their staff raves about why they love working at Jan’s. When you live in a small beach town, you appreciate people who go the extra mile with great food and service.

We were advised by a local to try Jan’s. We went for late breakfast. My husband and I ordered the Benedict’s. The muffin was rock hard (possibly frozen then straight into a toaster) it couldn’t be cut with the cutlery provided. The topping was not fresh and tasted wrong! Something was very wrong, as whatever the small bit was I ate (some sort seafood) it made me physically sick later that day. Kids chicken seemed reheated and was not edible. The waitress didn’t so much ask if our food was ok but kind of implying it was good with her own actions and ‘good right’ without really wanting a true response as to the real answer from us. She wasn’t the friendliest we’ve came across. Noticing most meals were left, she did not ask why but quickly whipped the plates away and presented us with the highly over priced bill. Overall - unfriendly, very worn and sad place, food was inedible and extremely overpriced. I don’t know what the locals order here to suggest people try this place. Possibly the staff don’t care to serve passers through a decent meal with decent service!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The staff ( every one of them ) are overwhelmingly courteous and competent. Scotty and Shawna are our favorites by far although we haven't met a server we didn't enjoy. Eggs Benedict is out of this world and the their western omelets are so addicting they'll make you want to buy a ranch and start to herd cattle. The wait on Saturday's and Sunday's might be lengthy, however if they feel the patron's are just sitting around chatting, taking their good olè sweet time, management has no problem respectfully asking them to wrap things up as others are waiting. The # 1 breakfast bistro in the business !!!

We went twice for breakfast during a 5 day stay in the area. The waiters were just excellent. An example of outstanding is that right after we were seated outside, another waitress came over and told us that since our assigned person was busy, she would take your drink orders to help her out, while pointing out who she was so we would know. But every person we interacted with was more friendly and helpful than the other. Everything we had was great, although I was not a fan of their new breakfast tacos on the menu. The shrimp and grits were just excellent, with large, super fresh shrimp and cheesy grits.

Very good for breakfast you might think about splitting an entrée The portions here are absolutely huge. Unless you are a really big big eater you will be taking some home. Yes, it’s pricey for breakfast but it is very good food.

Big place with inside and outside seating - private parking. Large menu has combos, waffles, pancakes, French toast, bagel and lox, salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, mimosas, Bellini, Bloody Mary, etc. They also have a bakery showcase with all kinds goodies, including chocolates. Full staff with a hometown good ol' friendly service. Prices are fair. My favorite is the California Eggs Benedict with grilled chicken, avocado, tomatoes, and spinach, my husband loves the "Country Mess" omelet with 5 choices & cheese, and we share an order of delicious potato cakes and fried green tomatoes. Be ready for a doggie bag. You gotta visit! :)

Incredible food and wonderful people serving it. We spend 3-5 weeks/year on Hutchison Island and that means 3-5 trips per year for the best breakfast ever ... Especially when you consider that you'll likely get two meals out of it. I had a seafood omelet with Hernandez sauce. My wife had an omelet with their sherry sauce and it was incredible. Last trip we tried the waffles and French toast. Equally delicious. I just can't say enough for the quality of the food and the service. Top notch.

The owner of Jan's is a very rude person, who makes his servers do his dirty work. As locals we will never go back. Good luck to him once all the snowbirds are gone. After waiting 35 minutes, we were seated and enjoying our breakfast when the server brought the check. We settled the tab and continued to finish our breakfast. Before we finished our coffee another server came over and told us they were slammed and asked us to leave. I found this extremely rude as there were several empty booths near ours open. When I told her it was rude, she told me they had a party of 12 waiting. Which didn't make sense since our booth only held 4 comfortably. I told her it was very rude and she said the owner told her to do it. I went and confronted the owner and told him how rude it was that he made her that. That we tip the server very well and we waited our 35 minutes for a table. He didn't care. We will never go back and we will make sure that all of our local friends never go back.
