Very friendly and charming restaurant in a quiet side street. Was greeted and served in a very friendly and charming manner. The place also features an interesting wine list with some rather unusual finds like a Sauvignon Blanc from Slovenia... amongst others. Food unfortunately did not impress... the starter (Spinach salad) was with a rather bland sauce and garnished with... More

Off the beaten path and definitely worth the trip. Atmosphere is quant and food is delicious! We ate on the porch which really allowed us to get a feel for life on the keys.

Have been here multiple times and have never had anything but a great experience! from the food to the ambiance to the servers this is my favorite Key West dinner spot. We always start with the Lobster Mac-N-Cheese as an appetizer and one is plenty to share. My favorite entrée is the Lobster Thermidor. Not on the menu but a... More

Was lucky enough to have a hotel on Truman and walked over to the Flaming Buoy. Jay was very knowledgeable and guided us with a nice appy trio including lobster mac and cheese, caprese salad and grilled shrimp with a chutney sauce. For dinner we had mahi, shrimp over curry rice and lobster thermidor. Awesome service, good food in a... More

By far the best meal I had in Key West. This is an unassuming restaurant off the beaten path but within walking distance of the more expensive, less interesting restaurants in the prime tourist areas. The lobster was amazing. Reasonably priced. They only serve beer and wine. No cocktails.

My husband and I were looking for a restaurant that would cook the fish we had just caught that day...We called the Flaming Buoy...yes! they said, bring it on in! We lucked out and got a great table on the patio. Super chill, charming atmosphere. Loved that it was in a quiet neighborhood. Jay was our waiter and he was... More

Great food....tucked away in Key West Old Town area...great food...the wait staff are very friendly. Interesting thing is they are Star Wars fans and you'll see it around the place when you visit. For sure a place you'll want to put on your bucket list when visiting Key West.

We were VERY disappointed with this restaurant. It is small but cute and our waiter was friendly BUT our dinners were not very good. We could not drink our wine. It tasted like it had been sitting out in the sun all day....really bad. We started with the trio appetizer which was decent. The lobster macaroni was highly recommended by... More

We were staying in a hotel nearby and we wanted to eat dinner that had an interesting and unique menu. The Flaming Buoy & Filet Co. Definitely satisfied our needs. Jay was our server and recommended some specials that are not on the menu but on the website, like the triple appetizer and the triple main entree. I had the... More

We dined twice at FBFC, first time was in Feb with one other couples. W our table was on the porch during a nice evening. Service is very pleasant & informed. We ate light but the fare was well prepared and flavorful. Our second visit was in early March with two other couples, this time the evening was cooler so... More

Description
An "only in Key West" restaurant, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. makes a statement on the hushed stage of a residential neighborhood. It is one part retro supper club, one part sassy corner bistro, and one part highly personal whim. Fred Isch, self-proclaimed Air Force Brat, grew up in every geographic segment of the country with a mother who loved cooking and collecting recipes. His partner, Scot Forste, grew up on the farm where his mother, bored of city life, spontaneously relocated to get back to the land, breed horses, and grow fresh, healthy food. Every recipe on the Flaming Buoy menu is an interpretation of something Fred or Scot ate at their respective family tables. Local additions, like seafood, tropical fruits, and Cuban flavors reinterpret the nostalgia, and the result grabbed the attention of the New York Times in 2011. Whether from a porch seat next to pots of herbs, or inside a white dining room accented in orange, dining the Flaming Buoy way is delicious and fun.
