Had the appetizer trio and the entree trio. Both are designed as tasting menus. Both are exceptional choices. The shrimp with lime is especially well done and layered with flavors that introduce themselves and you enjoy. Brian (aka Dirty Jesus) was my server and he was both attentive and informative. He rounded out the great food. If in KW, you... More

Best first stop restaurant! Tucked away in a neighborhood with a bunch of houses, we first thought, "where is this cabbie taking us?" Then we pulled up to Flaming Buoy, which we also were recommended by our cabbie from the airport. One of the best places we've ever gone! It was a Thursday night, not to busy. Jay was awesome... My wife commented that the amount of lobster in the lobster mac pleasantly surprised her. Everything we ate was exceptional. The wine list was unique and affordable. My wife had hogfish for the first time, and believe it or not I had amazing fall off the bone baby back ribs.. You will not get a more flavorful meal. This place... More

This was our last dinner stop and my absolute favorite! Jay was a fabulous waiter. He kept us laughing! We sat on the porch and the atmosphere was great! We started with the trio appetizer which included the lobster Mac. It was all SOOO yummy! For dinner I had the catch of the day in lime butter sauce. The fish... More

Walked here from Duval street and could not believe how good the place eventually was. Did not have a reservation, but managed to get a table. Menu is great, try their tasting menu with different dishes. Wine prices also reasonable. Children also loved the place.

Everything was great with this evening! The food was fantastic and their service was superb! It is off the beaten path and outside of the area where restaurants survive just because tourists find them. This was so much better! The caprese salad and lobster mac and cheese was amazing and their seafood special (hog fish) was fantastic - recommend this... More

We have lucked out in finding another Key West treat. Walking in during Christmas week, I was impressed by the spinning Christmas tree adorned with vintage Star Wars action figures and a staff wearing Star Wars-themed t-shirts. The staff and ambience started things off in the right foot for us, and the food followed through as well. The hogfish special... More

We went here because of the recommendation of our hostess. She said the Lobster Mac 'n Cheese was the best in town. She didn't lie. It was fabulous. But the way other spices were incorporated into other foods on the menu was really unique, fun, and exciting. I haven't ever mixed chocolate with cayenne before and they did it excellently!... More

We happened by The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. as it was near our hotel. We were looking for a relaxing evening as we had spent the day on a snorkeling trip. Hands down, this was the best dinner we had in Key West the entire week. Fresh seafood is paired with comfort food like mac n cheese and mashed potatoes... More

We were on a round trip in Florida with children and got a table here after a busy day. Even though the youngest of the children nearly fell asleep at the table, the personel were really friendly and going the extra mile with tailored portions for kids. The food (everyone's) was really good and the wine recommended was perfect. Truly... More

An "only in Key West" restaurant, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. makes a statement on the hushed stage of a residential neighborhood. It is one part retro supper club, one part sassy corner bistro, and one part highly personal whim. Fred Isch, self-proclaimed Air Force Brat, grew up in every geographic segment of the country with a mother who loved cooking and collecting recipes. His partner, Scot Forste, grew up on the farm where his mother, bored of city life, spontaneously relocated to get back to the land, breed horses, and grow fresh, healthy food. Every recipe on the Flaming Buoy menu is an interpretation of something Fred or Scot ate at their respective family tables. Local additions, like seafood, tropical fruits, and Cuban flavors reinterpret the nostalgia, and the result grabbed the attention of the New York Times in 2011. Whether from a porch seat next to pots of herbs, or inside a white dining room accented in orange, dining the Flaming Buoy way is delicious and fun.
