This is another Best Place for Authentic Japanese. It is located in strip mall on SW 40th St. (Bird Rd.) and SW 57th Ave (Red Road). You need to get here early for dinner because, it gets packed. Everything is made as it would be made in Japan, not Western or Americanized. Their food is great and the rice is... More

The sushi & sashimi are for sure the best in Miami. Still no matter what time expect huge lines and you will never be comfortable seated due to the tiny space & horrible acoustics. Having said that, then the question is how much are you willing to sacrifice to taste a great sushi.

It is a hidden Japanese gem in a strip mall on Bird Road. However once inside, the place is cool, big and has a great vibe. The crowd is great, lots of Japanese customers. Food is awesome, stays on the traditional side. No fancy rolls, no cream cheese, no squirting of mayo and funky sauces.

We have been searching for a typical authentic sushi restaurant for the past month and we finally found it! They still have a sushi bar, tho you can't order direct from the chefs behind it, waiters take care of that. My vegetable tempura was light and veggies varied and fresh. My sushi was so fresh the fish melted in my... More

The food at Matsuri is extremely fresh and prices are fair for the quality. Certainly one of the best sushi / sashimi in town! Service is slow and confusing. A reservation does not mean a table will be waiting for you; but rather you will be placed ahead in the seating list upon your arrival.

It's hidden gem and is defiantly a restaurants for locals . The fish is always fresh and the service always fast. My favorite rolls crunchy hippo , mr. bush and the salmon sushi. The salmon here is always fresh and outstanding. Oh yea the prices for the quality you get is a defiantly a deal!

When traveling, I try to find new Sushi places to enjoy. The atmosphere was wonderful and the place was busy on a Wednesday evening. All good signs. The food was excellent and the quality was very good. Service was friendly and Sushi came quickly and disappeared just as fast. Will definitely return the next time I am in town.

When you walk into a Sushi restaurant in Miami and see that it's primarily inhabited by Asians/Japanese patrons you get a warm and fuzzy feeling that you are in the right place. It's also good that the owner of the restaurant speaks little to no English. (Not rare in Miami to find a Sushi restaurant owned by a Cuban, but... More

This is some of the best sushi I have had, EVER. Definitely make a reservation because this place is well known and loved by locals and Japanese tourists. If you love unadulterated high quality sushi that knows nothing of mango, cream cheese or mayo sauces....this is your place. Oh, and it is extremely reasonably priced.
