This place has been opened for over 40 years, they must be doing something right. This is what I would call the "Qunitissentional Cuban Bistro", Very little has changed in those 40 years, the tables, the plates, fixtures, they are all the same; They haven't changed, but they have managed to maintain the quality of food throughout. Barr none, I would... More

I've been coming to this restaurant for years because my husband loves their steak and fries piled on top. My last visit left me questioning the hygiene. You see, the guy who cleans the tables carries a hairbrush in his pocket which he uses to hang the towel, the same towel used to wipe down the tables. The tables were... More

Their food is delicious and cooked with many home flavored sauces. Just realize that this local restaurant has been open and owned for over 40 years. So, the ambiance though family style is just a local restaurant.

Rio Cristal is one of those Cuban restaurants that I've been going to since I was a little kid. It is my mother's favorite, but as I get older, it's not my favorite Cuban that I've had. No doubt this is a very local place. When my partner and I walked in, we are basically the only non-Cubans in the... More

Woah! We ordered the steak special for lunch and it appeared to be enough for a family of four! Flavorful skirt steak under a mound of onions under a triple mound of French fries. Our server was charming and apologized for her English (we had no issues communicating) and the food was delivered so quickly we luckily had no chance... More

It is like you are going back in time. Waiters are like old cranky people. Always order the same plate.steak and mountain of thin crunchy greasy fries. The thin Steak is nicely season and have finely cut onions. The give 2 breads ask for more they charge you. But boy is it good. Try at least once

All the classics, well made, well priced. Always full, always brisk service. Yes Spanish speakers do best here, but you will still be taken care of if you do not speak English, trust me, as my husband does not speak Spanish and he always gets his food! One of my favorite dishes here is the fried red snapper!

I used to visit Leila's, an excellent Cuban restaurant, when I visited Miami. Unfortunately, that restaurant has disappeared. The former owners now own this one. You'll find Cuban food here including the palomillo steak heaped with French fries. But it wasn't the same quality. The service was unbelievably slow. The waitress and cashier only spoke Spanish. Fortunately, I was able... More

This is traditional cuban comfort food. Try the palomilla steak with fries or tostones as well as the flan for dessert. They are indeed tasty and delicious. They have been doing this for 44 years and they are as soon as ever.
