Nothing "wrong" with this restaurant, but at $50 pp, without wine, I expected more. I also felt like we were being scammed, as they wouldn't disclose the prices of the specials. The king crab legs appetizer, for instance, was $30pp. The appetitzer platter which they...More

I researched dining in Miami for weeks and all reviews I read were good, I was so looking forward to this place, only to be sadly dissapointed. The food was just ok. I enjoy seafood and work in a seafood house, this was no big...More

My wife and I were staying in the Avalon hotel so it made sense to try the restaurant during our stay in Miami (A Fish Called Avalon is located within the front of the hotel.) The restaurant had also been recommended to us and each...More

Great people watching on the porch, but overall the food and service are not great. This place seems to be the victim of its own good reviews--it's too busy and seems to have lost any attention to detail. We couldn't get our water glasses refilled...More

A terrific restaurant - good food, good wine and great service. We were a party of 18 and ate out front - which was nice on a warm night - and great for people watching! Many places are fazed by serving so many at once,...More

We've eaten here several times and have had fantastic service. The fish is sublime and beautifully presented. Their winelist, however, is outrageously overpriced. Overall though, a good place for a great meal - and the people watching is excellent.

Had a very nice seafood dinner at A Fish Called Avalon. Food was very good, but service was not. Waited a long time between appetizer and salad. We sat inside because of the heat, maybe that was the reason. The outside part was packed but...More

the Florida Snapper Au Poiver was amazing. It was spicy, just like the scenery walking by our table. Great place to people watch. Great wine list. Great service. Great food. Expensive prices but just right for a spoiled (and casual) evening on the town.

Overlooking Ocean Drive from the veranda of the Avalon Hotel is the 29 year old, acclaimed restaurant, A fish Called Avalon. Cuisine features local seafood prepared with a sensuous, tropical flair. An extensive wine reserve and full service bar naturally compliment our great food.
