Food & Service okay - not as "warm" as you would expect

Difficulty trying to find the main entrance as it was not clearly marked + the door needs to be fixed as it had a huge hole in it at the bottom. Disrepair for sure and not sure what to expect inside regarding the food or the service. Entered (wife in a wheelchair) and nobody greeting but sign states "wait to be seated." Young woman came over without speaking which forced me to say booth for 2; she walked away towards a booth and 2 menus but said nothing like "follow me." That was duh. Male server came over, eventually, as it seemed he was busy with many tables. Took drink orders and then the food was ordered. I had the taco salad (chicken/lettuce/tomato/beans, guac/sour cream). Wife had an enchilada and chile poblano. Salad was fair - refried beans on the bottom, shredded chicken and then shredded lettuce and tomato slices* (*not even separated - indicated just thrown together with no care). I actually could not see the chicken and asked if it was in the salad. Not very impressed and likely will never be back. High ceiling and music was too loud...FIFA was on the TV near the bar and made me feel I was in a sports bar and not a family friendly place. Hostess/table clearer had zero personality and server Oliver did his best but was too busy elsewhere. So be it.

Vallarta's - Average With Great Service

I have eaten here several times for two reasons, its close to the house and there is really no Mexican food competition. Good - There is one item on the menu item, Tortillia Soup, that is very good. The service here is great. They have tap Modelo and crazy big (3) beer mugs. Prices are reasonable. Bad - Everything else is average at best, They have some of the absolute worst salsa ever, almost like it came from a can. There is no good Mexican food anywhere around this area.

Great margarita's, good food.

We were seated promptly, the server was right there, bringing chips and salsa. Clean area plenty of parking and handicap accessible. Really convenient to local hotels. Everything we ordered came to the table hot and tasty. Definitely, will make this a place to come back to on our next visit.

Amazing food

Ordered food for pickup for my daughter's birthday party. The food quality and the value was amazing. We ordered tacos, rice, beans, and fixings. Every item was prepared ultra fresh and the tortillas tasted like they were made that same morning. The total cost for the order was far more affordable than several other places I called, including Taco Bell and Tijuana Flats. I highly recommend this establishment for their superb food quality, including taste and freshness.

Great Food, Service and Atmosphere

We were visiting the area and our friends who are locals took us here as they had visited several times before. Ample selections on the menu from a la carte items to combination plates. Nice selection of beers, wines and cocktails, with a full bar. Ample parking in their attached lot. Very courteous servers who were very attentive. A very nice experience.

Worth a visit

My favorite in this wonderful chain is on Dale Mabry. Excellent chicken soup served with any entree. The Odessa restaurant has great service but always seems a little empty to me. The "barn" decor is a bit anachronistic.

Too Much Food

Friendly Surprise. Plenty of parking. Staying across the street at Holiday Inn. Went on a Wednesday. Several cars in lot by 5:00 pm. Greeted & taken to table quickly. Nicely decorated on inside. Nothing on outside to indicate where the front door was. Had to look for it. That definitely needs to be corrected ASAP!!! Our waiter was quiet, meek. Had to coax a dinner suggestion from him. Joked with him & told him we weren’t from the area. Said we were counting on him. He gave us several & they were wonderful. A girl brought out the salsa dip & chips. Everything was just too much. Great price for too much food. I had steak fajitas. It came with 3 wraps. Beans & rice. Too much. My friend got the chicken quesadilla, with beans, & rice. Again. Too much. He said it was wonderful. Come again? Definitely!

Cold Food

The food arrived cold. It wasn’t even cooked the way it was supposed to be. This is the second(and last) time I will go here. After the first bad experience I shoulda just stayed away. Well, I will now. Do Nor recommend going.

Much better this time

Last time I was here was over 2 years ago and the service was just soso. Decided to give it another shot and was pleasantly surprised. Great service from a very attentive server. Good food and plentiful portion. I'll def be back again after tonights experience

The stand-out against a rapidly growing list of Mexican restaurants

When I moved into the area in 2015, there were not all that many Mexican restaurants - and those that were special were far away. Then Vallarta's opened, and ever since then, it has been our favorite. Chips and salsa are always immediate and top-notch. Whatever entrees we order are tasty, arrive quickly and are always fresh and hot. But what is most impressive about this place is how their quality has stayed high during and after COVID - something not the case in way too many restaurants. No matter who we go with - friends, out-of-state company, whomever, they always make a perfect impression.

Great Mexican food

I went last week with my husband and sister-inlaw and Mother-inlaw and the service was Great the food was real authentic Mexican food and was great!defiantly worth the drive!!would come back again and again!Prices are very reasonable.

Had driven by many times but hadn't ever stopped in, I should have kept driving. The service was bad, the food was bad... Sorry, nothing good to say about this place.

Never again

Worst meal and service I have ever had, period. I went with a friend on a Wednesday night and it wasn't busy at all. After a few minutes, a waiter arrived to take our drink order. We both ordered a water, which he promptly delivered with watery salsa and cold chips. Then he went to a table and started talking to other co-workers and rolling silverware. About 20 minutes later, he finally came back to take our order. By that time, our water was running low. We each ordered tacos and they came with an order of refried beans. The beans looked like they had been pureed. It was just a bowl of a white substance that was the consistency of a thick soup. It was very strange and tasted terrible. We both took a bite and left the rest. The tacos were disgusting. The tortillas had a very strange smell and unfortunately they tasted like they smelled. It was like a very dry rotten cardboard. We did not even finish one. During the meal, the waiter stopped by once and took my friends water for a refill and left mine on the table, even though it was empty. I thought perhaps he was coming back but he dropped her water off and sped away so I had no water for the entire meal because he did not return to the table again until he brought the check. I saw him standing by the kitchen all night talking to other co-workers. I would never ever return here. The food is gross, the service sucks, and there are too many other places around with good food and friendly service.
