The only issue is that they randomly put the rolls 1n containers and so we are all confused when we order take out because they put multiple rolls in one container and no one knows what the rolls are. Now we tend NOT to order...from Hooks when we have more than two of us ordering takeout because of this.More

Drove 1.5 hours to meet family here. I would drive 1.5 hours just to eat here now. Great menu options. Had the shrimp Rangoon, edamame, gyoza, excellent taste, good portions and not high priced like current restaurants. Very reasonable with better taste. Florida sushi roll...had a teriyaki sauce on it and was so good. The 5 noodle/chicken meal very good and large size. 4 of us ate with leftovers for right around $100.00 including a wine and soft drinks. Will return. Make sure you put in MLK street N! Not south!!! Big difference!More

Did get any Thai food but the sushi was great. I ordered the Volcano, Spider roll, and the hand roll (spicy krab). Everything was very tasty. And the house saki was great. This is a more casual restaurant so don’t it expect it to look...super fancy but the quality for me was great. I would definitely come back.More

One main room server, one Sushi Chef, two staff on take-out, over hour to get food, other staff standing around, asked table bus person for help, no response. Very unexpected for this place. Can't help but avoid this place for awhile.

This sushi place was excellent. Line out the door right when they open. Food comes out fast, so make sure to pace. Our favorite was the spicy tuna, wow.

I’ve been to this place many times with friends and family. The sushi is always very good and the atmosphere is excellent. Did you all the traditional sushi is very well they have excellent soups in the dumplings are also good. They get very busy...so be prepared for a bustling and fun restaurant. Far better restaurant then that terribly loud and overpriced French restaurant across the street, Left Bank bistro.More

Great place. FRESH seafood done right. I love the Wednesday deal for $1 sushi. Great economical way to try the wonderful array of choices. Absolutely delicious. Great food without the fancy prices.

My thoughts from lunch at Hooks sushi Bar… Hooks has two locations in St. Petersburg, Florida on 4th and 9th Streets, founded by sushi chief Hook Atsavinh whose creative & deliciously sublime sushi made acclaim of recipes from the pan-Asian regions of Thailand, Japan, Korea,...and China. The motto is that you can go to other restaurants where your money goes more toward fluff than quality food, but at Hook’s your taste buds come first. Taste and quality are supreme for sure, I recommend the TST sushi roll and the Pad Thai.More

I saw Hook's from across 9th St. when we were loading up on CBD products for our aching 60-something joints. A few days later we went there for dinner. The skies were threatening a big thunderstorm so the plan was to get there before the...storm, let it rain while we ate and then go home apres storm. The parking lot was nearly full. Where we parked was a little sketchy but we got away with it. There were tables open in the place but it was pretty busy. I ordered the Maki Combo ($14) and my wife ordered something involving sweet potato noodles and chicken. We shared a pot of hot tea. We both got soup and salad with our meal which came out promptly. The soup, which the owner had thrown together, didn't have a name but it was really good. The salad also was very good. After we finished those, it was only a matter of minutes before our entrees arrived. Everything tasted great. I had four large maki rolls. At my request, the waitress brought out a lot of spicy mayo and eel sauce. My wife's portion was huge too. We couldn't finish what we were served so the waitress packed up the leftovers and gave us a few new tubs of spicy mayo and eel sauce. The tab was $36 including a big tip. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but it is really good in all respects. We were so into our meals that we didn't notice the massive thunderstorm that dumped rain on us while we ate. By the time we were done, the rain was gone. I love it when a plan comes together.More

After a great morning workout, watching the Rays beat the Angels, my wife and son took me to Hooks. We are regulars at the Hooks on 4th Street, so I was excited to try this one. And it did not disappoint. I prefer the spicy...tuna roll and it was right on par with my expectations. The soup and salad where consistently the same which I like. I got the fried rice with chicken and steak, and it was great and a generous portion. Our server was John, he was very polite and right on point with the service and refill of our drinks. All is all a great place for a Fathers Day dinner!More
