Stopped to eat here with friends on our way over to Captiva Island. The peel and eat shrimp was great! My husband ordered the Cuban; which he thought needed addition mustard. I ordered the spinach salad and hot wings; all of which was very tasty! Over all the food was great, drinks were great and the staff was very friendly!... More

Great Yucatan Shrimp Tacos! We stopped here on our way to the beach. Rum drinks were tasty.... You can taste the rum! We had the bean dip... Which was good... Plenty of chips. We shared the shrimp tacos... Plenty for two. Good atmosphere and great service. Definitely recommend!

We have been to doc Ford's many times, usually it's ok for typical bar food but this time everything was awful. Mohito could have taken paint off and both ribs and prawns were tasteless, server couldn't have been less interested. Not cheap and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone again. We certainly won't go back.

Doc Fords is now on Sanibel and Captiva two locations and one is as good as the other. the one in Captiva is on the water and it is an island paradise with a rum bar. The Yucatan shrimp are the size of your hand they are to die for.

My family and I enjoyed a delicious meal here while vacationing on Sanibel Island. The service was excellent!! Reasonably priced!! You have to try their Yucatán Shrimp... We all kept raving about how delicious it was so our waiter actually gave us the recipe!! We will be back!!

The food and service were okay. They asked us if we wanted to sit outside and we said YES and before too long we were eaten alive by mosquitos...not a great plan.

Visiting Sanibel for the day. The menu here was full of a variety of delicious sounding sandwiches, salads, entrees and rum drinks. Everyone was super nice to our 4 year old daughter (free ice cream!). The shrimp tacos, seared tuna salad with Asian noodles and the tropical drinks were so good. Kids menu with crayons. Tropical atmosphere. Exactly what we... More

You've got to go early before the crowds on weekends to get seated without waiting. And this is true in the off season. This place is popular. There's a variety of choices with many seafood items. A few non-seafood items, too. Most items have at least a smattering of spicy seasoning, so ask very carefully. Your server will likely under-rate... More
