The atmosphere is cozy with a country feel and the staff is very friendly and efficient. There was a good assortment of food on the buffet, including: mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, green beans, collared greens, rice, grits, etc. with fried and baked chicken for lunch and small cuts of sirloin and clams for dinner. The salad bar had an... More

This was our first time eating at this establishment. We stopped on our way back home from a conference. It was Saturday evening about 6:00 p.m. When we walked in we were quite surprised at how dark and dated the interior is. It was relatively empty with few customers. Choices were limited. Steaks and hamburgers made to order or have... More

Great price ( under $15 p/p) for a good meal . Had a lots of seating for our crowd. The staff was friendly and attentive to our group. Dated decor but clean. Food was frequently replenished on the buffet. We will go back when in the area.

I read several reviews rating this place just average- I disagree-I know what to expect from the buffet depending on the day and either lunch or dinner. Yes some people might call this boring but for me it's a winning idea. I know that if I want seafood Friday is the day to get a good selection of it and... More

Just as the title says, we love this place. Fried chicken and chops are great. Veggies are cooked like they were made country style, they normally have a different variety including cabbage, lima's, corn, Green beans, okra & tomato of course mashed potatoes, rice not grace, then the salad bar. You also have the option to order from the menu.... More

My friends and family have been dining here for years! It is a place for family gatherings, special occasions and from watching the patrons- it is where the locals eat. We drive 25 minutes to get to it. But, it is worth the drive. The name has changed from Western Steer, but I wonder how many people will be able... More

The place is now called the Steakhouse in Starke. I can only give my opinion on the buffet. I don't recommend it. It has very few items. Mostly fried food. The popcorn shrimp was dry and had no taste. I think another shrimp item was suppose to be some type of shrimp in a hot wing type coating. It was... More
