Small and casual, delicious pizza and wonderful Bolognese sauce. Sit at the little bar if seats avaialble (although don't expect interaction with pizza chef, as no personality - too bad, as that would enhance the experience).

This restaurant is conveniently located in Downtown Tampa and has a charming atmosphere. It's a very small restaurant with exposed brick and excellent pasta. Our meal was delicious, but the prices were a bit expensive for my taste. That being said, it's not a super expensive restaurant by any means and I don't mind paying for quality.

Located close to Straz (less than 10 min walk) was convenient for lunch before a matinee performance. Great lunch special 2 slices and a small drink. Slices were large and we probably could have shared one special.

We found this "gem" while trying to make dinner reservations before our show time at the Straz. A short walk to the Straz and the Riverwalk. Small dining area but the decor and ambiance brings the feel of Italy. Simple, yet descriptive menu. From fresh baked garlic bread to fresh salads to flavorful flatbread pizzas to homemade (daily) canollis and... More

We were in Tampa on the day of the Gasparilla Fest and we were looking for a quite place to escape the crowds. This was the perfect get-away. The ambiance is very welcoming and the waitstaff was very friendly, inviting, and helpful. The food was very good and portion sizes were just right.

We were in town for the FMEA Conference and someone in our group was craving Italian; not a tough sell in our group. Did a TA search and Bavaro's was less than a mile from where we were. We enjoyed the walk over. We get there only to find that they've been bought out for the evening by a private... More

There are so many nice Italian restaurants in Tampa, it would be wise to skip this one. The food was almost inedible, nor was it very inexpensive. The service was fine, but the ambiance was awful. The noise level made it impossible to have a conversation across your table. The pasta was not cooked on the lighter side...it was hardly... More

Went twice. First time, I had the pizza funghi, and the flavor was great...the mushrooms were cooked perfectly and the generous use of fresh basil just made it pop. Caution: they cook their pies Napoletane style, which means the center is still a bit soft. This may be off-putting to some, but it's authentic. Second time: ravioli emiliana with bolognese... More

The wife and I stopped for pizza and it turned out to be a great idea!! The pizza we had was great then we had the Nutella pizza for dessert, OMG great stuff! We sat at the bar so we could see the pizzas being made. 90 seconds in the oven and done so cool!!!!

Description
The founder and Pizzaiolo, Dan Bavaro spent three years researching, training and traveling throughout the US and Italy to gather his vision and craft of pizza Napoletana. "Our pizza is thin and soft with a slight crisp to the crust while topped with the finest ingredients imported from Italy or locally grown and organic. Our food is an art form, which is prepared with passion as I was taught by fifth generation, Neapolitan families. One teaching the oven and the other pizza Napoletana." In addition to our Neapolitan pizza we have a variety of home-made pastas, soups and desserts which are made fresh on location and from scratch. Our ingredients are either imported from Italy or locally grown and organic.
