We have a lake cottage a few miles south of Clayton and we never come visit without a couple of lunches at the Clayton Cafe. It's a typical small town cafe filled with mostly local residents enjoying good food and very personal, friendly, hometown service!

Service is great on both sides of the restaurant it's just funny, on the left the lady is nice but it like the stern grandmother you were afraid of and the lady on the right side of the restaurant is the sweet grandmother that always baked you cookies. I absolutely love this place, the food, the atmosphere and the interesting... More

This place is almost like stepping back in time about 20 years. Old school dining with great people. We had breakfast. It was excellent. We will be back.

We had a great meal and enjoyed the fried chicken and the fried shrimp along with all of the Southern vegetables! The owners were courteous, and we enjoyed talking to them during our meal! This is a great place to stop!

We were interested in visiting this classic cafe, one of the oldest establishments in Clayton. We found it crowded for breakfast so waited nearly 30 minutes for our pancakes and omelet. Food was good but not exceptional; they did not have all menu items. Lunch menu has interesting southern items while breakfast is pretty standard. Service was friendly and efficient.

Good place to stop for a traditional southern meal. You can tell by the crowd that it is well liked by the locals. Always clean and just what you'd expect.

Have been going to Clayton for 15 years to ride motorcycles in the mountains & eat breakfast each morning except Sundays at the Clayton Café. Food always good, excellent service. Over the years have gotten to know Linda the owner, very funny lady! Have had the same server Doris for over ten years. Very nice people. The Café is quaint... More

We had big breakfasts with the works here before heading out of town. Obviously a very popular place, lots of regulars. We chose omelets, but pancakes looked really good too. An excellent way to end our visit to Clayton.
