I ate here on two consecutive days for lunch while at Callaway Gardens for a vingetence. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very quaint with a great view of Pine Mountain. It would be especially gorgeous in the Fall. The staff was friendly but the service was a little slow. The fried chicken salad was great and my colleague... More

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years and it was always good food - the only complaint would be the crowd waiting to eat. Not this time - I guess the first clue was that there were very few people eating in the restaurant. The food was not good -and neither was the service. We were very... More

rather than the typical ketchup coated meatloaf, came with delicious sweet stewed tomato on a giant slab of meatloaf. macaroni was extra cheesy but still the baked nice texture, collards exceptional, stewed apples delicious, mashed potatoes somewhat dissapointing (covered in brown gravy, tasted instant, but could have been finely whipped?) cookie sunday delicious! hush puppies well fried, not as spicyas... The service today was very slow and the server was slightly clueless over the phone while placing the order. It's a good thing I know the food is good.

My wife and I have eaten both lunch and dinner here this trip. The menu is basic country foods. The redneck benedict is one of my favorites. Basically biscuits and gravy with eggs and hot sausage added. Lunch for me is almost always a salad with grilled chicken, and there's is more than adequate. All in all, a good place... More

Food was really good. Some of the food seemed homemade and some was definitely not, but we enjoyed our meal overall. They have a nice view of the forest if you get seated in the rear of the restaurant. Their gift shop was nice to browse around too. We would visit again. Prices were fine compared to the quality and... More

This restaurant is very similar to Cracker Barrel. Items on the menu are what I consider to be "home cooking". Breakfast is eggs, omelets, pancakes, etc. Prices are reasonable. Service was ok. However, this restaurant is in need of some updating. Every chair at our table was wiggly as well as the table. The bathrooms were smelly and the handle... More

Just plain, good food. Be sure to have fried green tomatoes. The Country Store is comfort food at its best.

Went there for lunch on a Sunday. Nice place with good food; I enjoyed the club sandwich and my wife had the chicken and waffles (even better than my sandwich and a neat gift shop.

Tucked inside the Callaway Gardens Country Store(R), where picture windows reveal a breathtaking ridgetop view, the Country Kitchen specializes in down-home Southern dishes with a creative flair. Start your day with a heaping plate of smoked pork and eggs benedict, or enjoy a fried-chicken-and-vegetable combo for lunch or dinner - washed down, of course, with an ice-cold serving of sweet tea right out of a mason jar. Whatever you fancy, your taste buds are sure to be tickled at this Callaway Gardens institution. Meals are not served between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. as the kitchen switches the line from breakfast to lunch/dinner.
