Extremely friendly clientelle and servers with fun southern fried specialities. When was the last time you enjoyed hush puppies? Cheesy grits? These are standard sides, along with bacon-flavored green beans that remind me of grandma's cooking. Definately pull off the higway for this stop, yes siree ma'am. These guys welcome guests with a plate of sliced bread-and-butter pickles. All food... More

Food was great and prices are good. Old style atmosphere. Grouper was great along with cheesy grits. Southern gem of restaurants.

I absolutely LOVE good seafood but was terribly disappointed with Charles Seafood. The hushpuppies were flour and not cornmeal like true southern hushpuppies, the menu was a bit confusing and the food was only mediocre at best. Staff was friendly but busier attending to a large party than checking with us for refills, etc. If you want good seafood, skip... More

First if you are looking “fine dining” with real plates, silverware and glassware this ain’t the place. BUT if you are looking for good ol’ southern fried catfish, shrimp, mullet, scallops or oysters that are delicious, this is the place. It’s a down to earth eatery that the locals love. And with good reason. Even their sandwiches are great. They... More

Most of our food was OK. The scallops were good. My main complaint was that hush puppies are supposed to be made with corn meal. These were not. They were tasteless. My husband enjoyed his grouper sandwich. Bathroom was clean.

We were passing through Tiffton GA and looking for a dinner stop. Using Trip Advisor we found Charles Seafood. This was a good seafood restaurant. Lots of locals eating here. Living in coastal FL we frequent local seafood restaurants. This is worth the stop. Food was well prepared and tasted good with a southern flare of grits and fresh green... More

While the seafood is your traditional offering for a town that is 3 hours from the nearest coast, it is still quite good. What earns the restaurant its 4 stars is the warm and friendly atmosphere. The service was good and I look forward to a return visit. The restaurant is very conveniently located near good hotels and right on... More

Can't say how the food was. Waited 20 minutes for a table. Not bad for a Friday evening. After 10 minutes nobody had come for drink orders. At that point I saw an object over 2" long with legs run across the kitchen entrance. Two waitresses with an experienced maneuver quickly cut it off and stomped it flat! One looked... More

Though the servers were friendly that was the best point about this family owned restaurant. The food was edible but tasteless and fairly expensive compared to quality. I'm not sure how you can make a whole meal tasteless but they did it.
