We have always loved this location, but lately the food has not been as good. I can't even say exactly what it is, but the food just doesn't taste as good. I can't even get anyone to want to go back there to eat, since the last couple times we went there were not so great.

Great place for lunch. Quick, yet very good food. Great service. Clean. Great atmosphere! In a great spot by the Boise Towne Mall.

I order chicken enfuego and chicken tortilla soup. The chicken was really hard and greasy. It was served with black beans and rice. The dish is supposed to be spicy but it was nothing what I was expecting. It seemed to be just sautéed chicken and green peppers with onions and topped with spicy salsa. The tortilla soap was very... So we stopped by for a quick lunch and to our surprise it wasn't quick at all. The service was very inconsistent with a hesitant waitress. The food is ok without much taste but adding spice is easier than taking away. Chips and salsa work though

I went there today and had a couple beers for happy hour and ordered a $5 appetizer of 4 "mini" steak tacos. And when I say mini, that is the amount of meat on the tacos! The beers were half price....so instead of $6.50 for a large Coors Light, I paid half....just bump up the starting price and give half... More

We ordered a variety of food and they were all very large portions. We had leftovers for lunch the next day. Chips, salsa and bean dip served while waiting for dinner. Food is ok. My kids were very intrigued by this Sun in the lobby.

They have an extensive menu of standard Mexican dishes. Portions are huge so we had enough to bring home for lunch. We went here on Monday (2 kids can eat free per adult) so that saved us some money. I was good but if you are looking for authentic mexican rather than Americanize Mexican, I don't think this is the... More

We had lunch in the cantina. The young man who started out as our server was friendly and quick with the drinks, but then he disappeared. When he did show up he was awesome, but it was a long time before we could ordet our food. The food took awhile and when we asked for silverware the lady just dropped... More

We went as group for work for happy hour. Several of us ordered the street tacos. They were terrible, they were filled with all lettuce. We had ordered a side of pica de galio, but never received it. And did not realize I was charged for it till I looked at the receipt later. This is a failure. Several of... More

Mexican restaurants as a rule have standard menus. It takes an adventurous and creative chef to turn the staples into specialities. Cafe Ole follows the general rule of tacos burritos etc Nothing more, nothing less. The staples are good plentiful and cheap. Looking for something exceptional, pass...looking for a solid filling meal, there you have it.
