The name of Gino's is misleading. In fact when we came in with two under drinking age girls who are family members, the man at the door confirned that is is NOT part of the Gino's chain. And he was right. It's called Gino's NORTH not Gino's EAST. It's a locals bar that serves Pizza....and avereg Pizza at that. Loud... More

The ambience of this place is worth the visit alone. Near the L stop at Granville, the restaurant wears it's historic appearance well. The cocktails are reasonable, but if you order a pizza be prepared to wait. The chef takes care to make everything from scratch. This process is slow, but worth the time and effort. The only drawback is... More

I am not a pizza aficionado, except for the one I make at home, which is more like an overloaded focaccia. That said, I have been told by many friends that the pizza is quite good. We get samples at the ANVIL (not Anville) a long-operating gay bar in our neighborhood and indeed it is a good traditional pizza. .... More

Love this tiny hole in the wall restaurant. Booths wrap you and your friends into this friendly place with great food and drink. Go enjoy it.

The pizza is made-to-order so prepare to wait a bit, but I promise it is worth the wait. We ordered a deep dish and a thin crust, and it was the best pizza I've had in my life (what can I say, I love my pizza). It's a very cozy little spot and the staff is very friendly. We asked... More

We always feel comfortable here. Same staff have been here for years and are very accommodating. Make sure you are not in a hurry, pizza takes 45 minutes to bake but have a salad and some of their yummy garlic bread while you are waiting. Our favorites are the thin crust pizzas, spaghetti with special sauce and sausage and of... More

Gino's is an old-time Chicago neighborhood bar that happens to serve tasty pizza. Unpretentious, with prices to match! It's a small place, which just makes it seem intimate and cozy. Staff is friendly and accommodating. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by!

We stopped in after a play. The atmosphere is very warm and congenial. The bar looks like one of those pre-Prohibition bars, large, dark mahogany, with bottles displayed in front of mirrors. We grabbed a booth. They have booths along the wall opposite the bar which runs the length of the place. Each booth is semi-circular. We ordered the house... More

Can't believe this was supposed to be good. Crust was like cornbread and sausage was flattened into bottom of pizza. Had to throw it away.

This trip was our first time to Chicago & we highly anticipated having authentic deep dish pizza. It was a long train ride from where we were staying, but it was well worth it. So many people say they don't like deep dish because it has too much dough, but somehow Gino's makes theirs with the most flakey, light crust... More
