If walking by you might not know to stroll in and try out this place. We tried this as a recommendation from a friend. Sharable eats, I'd say a bit above average on the food, but the margarita's rock.. I had a cucumber based one that was good enough that I want to go back for the margarita. The service... More

Packed scene for sure but all good looking guests getting fed great portioned Mexican food. I stopped by after a walk around the River North Neighborhood to see the "speakeasy" - "La MEZ" but it is closed on MOndays. I went to the bar and had a Taco platter and fantastic guacamole. The Guac was made right there at the... More

Loud, noisy but perfect for Cinco De Mayo. Caters to a mid 20s crowd but the margaritas were delicious, the guacamole had a nice little kick to it, and the tacos are perfect.

Amazing traditional margarita? ✔️ (Pic is not the traditional.) Smooth & creamy guacamole which was not over-powered by cilantro? ✔️ Perfectly salted tortilla chips which tasted made in-house? ✔️ Mahi-mahi tacos which made The Hubsy 🤤🤤?✔️ Stopped in for a bite as soon as we got to town. $100 later we were off to Navy Pier...so, I would classify $$$$... Great place for lunch or dinner. Guac sampler is great for sharing and everything we have tried was exceptional. Tacos come in 4s and cannot be mixed so I think it's best to share. Al Pastor is my favorite but no one has had something they didn't like. Had a fantastic Mezcal mixed drink here and would definitely come back.

I agree with some of the other reviewers... it's crazy loud in this place. My wife and I came in with our son and our niece who was in from out of town. We had a 9:45 reservation. The tables are packed really close, the music is relatively loud, the crowd looked to be young and cool. Our server Alejandro... More

We stopped here for a margarita and to share a meal. The margarita was good and we had the carne tacos. The meat was tender and tasty. Nothing extraordinary but definitely good.

Mercadito was one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel, so we took a chance. And it paid off! They pride themselves on their margaritas, and they should, because they were anything but ordinary. The food was delicious - fresh, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was fabulous. But what impressed us even more than the food was how... More

We made a reservation but it was pretty packed so had to wait half an hour by the bar for our table to be ready. Margaritas were great, and strong! Food portion sizes were small, but that is always a good thing as sometimes portions can get out of control and leave you feeling over stuffed. Food was well presented... More

Margaritas, tacos, ceviches, salsas and quesadillas. Hey, it's all there and I felt it was very tasty. I've found some Mexican food in US can sometimes lack any 'kick' but I thought this was pretty good. Service was fine, the evening we went wasn't overly busy so didn't find it loud like other reviews. But to be honest, if I... More
