The Purple Pig was a blast. We came for a late Tuesday lunch, and by doing so, we were fortunate to avoid the long lines that are reportedly common here. Nonetheless, the joint was booming with excitement, with folks strung together a bit haphazardly on long wooden tables in ways I haven’t seen since frequenting a few extra cozy restaurants... More

A friend was visiting from Canada, we did an architectural tour on the river, then went here for lunch. Wine, olives, cheese, wonderful! Plates are perfect for sharing, and everything was tasty!

The variety ( and certainly not just pork) of the menu coupled with the bright friendly attitudes of the wait staff make this cozy spot a nice break from the melee of the Magnificent Mile. The wine list is abundant and compliments the various dishes. Mediterranean style tuna is one of our favorites and has been consistently good. At peak... More

To experience the true Chicago, I was referred here. Good spot close to shopping district and the river. You can sit down or stand around tables. Kristen greeted us and was very knowledgable about the menu options. Another server was very rude to me when I questioned the wine pour. She was rough, harsh, and ungentle. After bringing a bar... Despite of no reservation and hot weekend, we sit upon arrival. We took our time for the menu, and then everything we had (and shared) was excellent! Maybe as Italian the big plate of "affettati" was expensive (but I guess normal for here 😄). I do recommend (not for date, because privacy is a no go 😄)

Great happy hour & dinner spot in downtown Chicago. Attentive bartenders and great wine. Expect a packed venue and maybe a wait for tables. They also have an outdoor patio. Small plates tapas style. Unique menu offerings. Good for locals or out of towners.

This is a very interesting and unique restaurant. The atmosphere is exciting and motivating. Fun and a great place for family, friends and associates. The menu is very unique and can fit most palettes. A nice place for a change and fun. The wine selection is superb and moderately priced.

Small or full sized dished, all of them as delicate. Just watching how the staff handles what seems like a an endless stream of new orders was really impressive and entertaining Take a seat in the bar with an overview of the kitchen.

Description
This is a new restaurant from the house of Bannos (owners of the infamously popular Heaven on Seven, here in Chicago). They have now opened what could affectionately be called the foodie tourists' dream come true, with everything from bone marrow to fried pig's ears and fresh ricotta as well as a nice selection of paninis, and of course, the wines. Not to mention: Its right on the Magnificent Mile!
