The food was great - the better choices were recommendations from my server. I had the Greek cornbread with feta and honey, which was good but frankly too sweet. My server recommended the broccoli with anchovy sauce, which was amazing. For a main course, milk-braised pork shoulder, which was tender and well-seasoned. Prosecco to start (excellent) and a wine recommendation... More

The great thing about this restaurant is that the majority of the dishes are sharing plates and you can taste test several different items. The worst thing is that you fill up before you're tired of tasting more plates. Everything we ate here was delicious. Even dishes I doubted I would like were incredible. I ate there with my wife... Stopped in here for a quick lunch after arriving from Newark. The menu is very creative and diverse, of course focusing mainly on pork dishes. We ordered JLT "pork jowl, lettuce, tomato" open faced sandwich, hot dog for our son, braised pork with mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Gotta have at least one real veggie. It was hard to decide on... Everything is amazing here. The people are friendly and the food is amazing! I recommend this place to all my friends who visit Chicago. Always busy, so make sure you get there early to get a table. Open until 1am!

Web searching prior to our recent weekend in Chicago lead us to the Purple Pig It was recommended that we arrive between 4-5 for faster service with theater tickets at 8 pm . We arrived at 5:00 it was packed with an hours wait but well worth it .The waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations for dishes and with the... More

I ended up having lunch here with some co-workers. We shared everything, which is the way to go here. We had the roasted olives, milk braised pork shoulder and the octopus. All were excellent and leave you feeling full. The food is rich with flavo, so a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this place.

In town for business, went by myself (had a reservation!). Was walked through the menu by waitstaff, they made spot-on recommendations!

A great place to stop for fun dining right on Michigan Avenue. Small plates are perfect to share and good wine selections. Stop for a snack or order enough for a meal.

This is a new restaurant from the house of Bannos (owners of the infamously popular Heaven on Seven, here in Chicago). They have now opened what could affectionately be called the foodie tourists' dream come true, with everything from bone marrow to fried pig's ears and fresh ricotta as well as a nice selection of paninis, and of course, the wines. Not to mention: Its right on the Magnificent Mile!
