My wife and I stopped in thinking it was just a bakery. It was crowded and busy but we soon got a table at the counter top looking out on the street. I ordered a dish that was comprised of fried ham with two BAKED eggs on top. Wow , what a mixture. They served it with pretzel bread on... More

Loved the bakery. Took us back to Vienna and the fun we had while visiting. Nothing here to dislike in fact everything we tasted as terrific!

Amazing, authentic pastries that were delicious. Staff helpful in making suggestions and describing ingredients. Can get items for a meal or have a quiet team with treat like I did.

The breakfast at Austrian Bakery was delicious, with very generous portions. We also bought pastries to go which were also delicious. We sat at an outside table that was very nice. The service was friendly and efficient.

The plum cake was delightful. Coffee is good and service was excellent. There are a variety of pastries and sandwiches available, all reasonably priced.

I'm a Lincoln Park local and this has been my go-to for years. I normally get the herb marinated chicken sandwich, or the chicken schnitzel sandwich and both are, what I consider, the best on Clark st - if not all of LP. The staff are all really welcoming when you eat in and super hrlpful when taking away. I'm... More

The bread here is all wonderful and baked on premises. Especially good is the sunflower bread. They also have poppyseed loaf just like my grandmother used to make and a wide assortment of cakes by the piece, from Sacher Torte to German Chocolate, all the way to Bienen Stich. Great place! ZB

While Visiting Lurie Children's clinic we had the chance to experience fine Austrian ambiance and a mouth watering lunch at the Austrian Bakery. My veggie omelet was very well portioned and the fresh baked bread was divine. I definitely recommend dining there if you're ever in that part of Chicago! It made the trip worthwhile!

Welcome to Austria. Great bakery goods. Small breakfast menu. Ambiance average. A place to sit down and relax. Not Frances' or Eleven Diner, but still a good choice. Do order their dark rye bread which is like pumpernickel bread.
