Having noted the great reviews, we made a reservation for 7 pm, which was offered to us after initial uncertainty about whether they could fit us in. Arrived 6:55, and were asked to wait "on the ramp", with other couples and groups awaiting seating. Finally walked out at 7:25, having never been called. Place was packed, including one large group.... More
Four of us came here tonight. We made a reservation about 1 hour ahead and good thing we did. It was packed. They were turning away guests. We ordered 5 dishes and 2 desserts. Each one was absolutely delicious. We will definitely come back next year :)
We went with children who wanted their dishes prepared differently than the menu offerings. This was no problem at all! Server was attentive and everyone loved their entree choices. Especially recommend the fried calamari appetizer, black spaghetti and the pizza!
We read the reviews and this place was better that we expected. The service was great! Careen took care of us! Great job from the wine selection to food! Loved it. Thank you so much for our last night in Chicago. We will be back!
Dining at Volare on a busy saturday evening is quite an experience. The restaurant is packed with little space to move around. The quality of food and service is fine. Overall a good Italian restaurant, but not my favourite.
I have been here a few times, though not for over a year now. We ate here because we were staying nearby and this was walking distance from hotel on a short time window. I got the black spaghetti, which was tasty but not spectacular. One thing that hasn't changed is their failure to shampoo the carpets which give off... More
I've dined at Volare numerous times and it has never disappointed. Great northern and southern italian fare. Courteous staff and the owner Benny is always walking around making sure every customer is having a great dining experience. The linguini with clams is excellent, so are the other numerous pasta selections. It is busy and it will get loud from time... More
My meal at Volare might be the most amazing Italian I have ever had. I had the seafood special which was spaghetti with seafood (muscles and calamari) in a fra diavolo sauce. Incredible. The waiter said that they season the sauce with just a little red pepper flakes to give it some very mild heat, and they marinate the calamari... More
Here for a working dinner after a trade show in town. I arrived a little late - so had a little bit of the calamari starter that seemed delicious.... then onto wine, a main course and desert. Restaurant is noisy - customers conversations and wide open kitchen beating out the sounds of cooking meals for the hundred plus guests! Feels... More
