Moderately priced food but has the taste of elegance. the bread is fresh and warm, the dip is savory and tasteful. Portion sizes are a size so you can eat all three courses, medium but not too large. Service was professional and helpful. Even when the restaurant was busy, waiter was attentive. Would definitely visit again.

I HATE Osteria Via Stato!!!! Because they are so great, they have made eating in any other Italian restaurant average. Seriously, we were treated like royalty and the food… well like I said, it is second to none.

We've been to Osteria Via Stato a couple of times now and have found the food, while not what I'd call adventurous, to be very consistently good. Outstanding starter this time with the veal meatballs! I enjoyed my oxtail ravioli very much and our server was informative and attentive. Plenty of large groups were in the restaurant but it didn't... More

It was my 17 year old son's first taste of calzone and veal meetballs. He loved both and commented he wished his Italian father was with him to share the crusty bread. Honestly, I couldn't believe ho much he ate. He even commented the chicken soup was really good, and he's not so much of a soup eater.

We had a special chefs menu for Valentines night and it was delicious! We especially enjoyed the meatballs appetizer, salmon entre, and the beef tenderloin! Service was great and we enjoyed the ambiance.

I had my wedding dinner at Osteria Via Stato. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I wish I could do it all over it again. It was a great experience. I worked with Michelle, the head of the event staff to coordinate the wedding dinner. She let me drop off tapered candles and place cards the day... More

Honestly, this restaurant blew us away. Our waiter was extremely helpful and knowledgable and we enjoyed every last bite of our dinners. The pasta was amazing and my husband said the steak was the best he has ever had! Portion sizes looked small but they were just right! Don't miss this restaurant if you are in Chicago. You won't be... More

Thank you for such a heartfelt and amazing review. We would have to agree with you on the steaks. In a sea of steak house in the city of Chicago, we get a ton of compliments on our Slagel farms Dry aged beef. We are lucky to get to work with such great local purveyors, and have such a talented... We were in a group of six people and really enjoyed the Restaurant Week Tasting Menu. The restaurant served a nice variety of food on the menu and it was plenty to eat. The red sauce on the meatballs was great. The service was nice and the wine list had a variety of price options. We will return to try... More
