Ate here on a Tuesday night, ~9pm and there still was a 40 minute wait! Deep dish pizza took another 40 minutes, but that was expected. The ambiance of names written all over the walls was neat. Pizza sauce was delicious. Salivating! Good! Cheeze was...More

Pizza is fantastic, you need to count on at least 45 mins cook time if you order the deep dish. Recommend Ginos supreme thin crust, but you can't go wrong. Good service as well.

Let the debate begin - Deep Dish vs. NYC! For Deep Dish, I'll vote for Gino's East. Great pizza, great service, and the hummus appetizer was outstanding! Worth visiting the city just for this pizza!

Great deep dish pizza, we got both a thin crust and deep dish. Deep dish is the way to go. Cheese sticks were great. Cool atmosphere. Service was so so. Very long wait for food- so don't come hungry.

First Chicago deep dish, very tasty and my kids were happy with the thin crust. Cool atmosphere, very laid back, service felt rushed and impersonal, may have been the individual and that we came in later in the evening, but the host staff weren't overly...More

We had a large group and so had several pizzas to savor and the meat lovers was very good. The salad and dressing were fresh. Great choice of beers from Gino's micro brewery. We like the LaSalle Street lager. Very important to remember arrive around...More

Pretty tasty deep dish, but Lou Malnati's is better. Beer was good. Service was decent but not great. The door to the bathroom stall I was in annoyingly wouldn't lock (despite having TWO separate locks).

Before you could find a Giordano's on every corner, or an Uno franchise in every city, there was Gino's East. This original location - east of Michigan Avenue - has been a destination for locals and tourists for decades. In the recent past the venue...More

We had a thin crust so it came out faster (sort of as an appetizer) then a deep dish! Great - this is good eating!

Pizza was Average at best, you have to wait forever if you want a waiter to eventually pass you so you could order or ask for the bill or whatever.. 45 mins to an hour for a deep dish by the way. The location is...More

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan

Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago

place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Description
For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year!

Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan.
Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago.

Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!
