Real food made from scratch. Top notch. It is worth the price. Lunch is a bargain. They grow their own herbs. Chef Nile runs a tight ship!

Found that Effingham was a good mid-way point between Chicago and Nashville so had the pleasure of dining at Firefly on Saturday. Who would have thunk that Effingham would have such a gem of a restaurant! We were picking up a foster pet so the last thing with wanted to do was keep the pup in the car (or eat... More
Excellent appetizer. Excellent menu. Excellent dinner. Excellent servers and table bussers. And that IS a nice Saturday Night outing. The only thing that could be handled with a little more care IS the bussing of the tables because the server was just a little too efficient to clear the table of the used plates and causing one to feel just... This was our third experience at Firefly. There was one glitch (involving excessive salting of calamari). Glitches can happen anywhere, and so not all restaurants are not at the *** Michelin level. What is important is how that glitch is handled. In this case, the order was sent back with refusal of a very nicely offered remake, and removed from... More
Food was great as always, Bill was high as always. Outside of a waiter breaking a glass, it was a great place to eat. The only negative thing i would have to say, is there was a stench outside of something dead, made it a little unappetizing on entry.
Our most sincere apologies regarding the recent, unpleasant smell surrounding Firefly Grill. We hope that all our guests will understand that it is a direct result of a dedication to organic farming and will dissipate in 7-10 days. Our neighbors are currently in the process of working to restore the soil surrounding the Firefly property. In doing so, they have... More
We chose the Firefly based on its Trip Advisor rating, as we were just driving through Effingham. We both had the All American burger. While it was a pricey hamburger, it was excellent. Service was superb. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxed.
Typically we stop in Champaign as a halfway point to Nashville but we stopped at Effingham instead. Now that we've eaten at Firefly Grill we are making Effingham our new halfway stop! The landscaping in parking lot is great to start with and the long broad covered front patio is a great entrance. Design and function are perfect. Our waitstaff... More
i love this place - the service is always wonderful and efficient, the food is different, fresh, and delicious, and the ambience is exceptional. it is a little pricey - but well worth it. if you want to save money - order a salad to share (they're pretty big salads), an appetizer to share, and then a pizza to share.... We stopped at this restaurant on our way through Illinois and were absolutely amazed at our dining experience. The food was INCREDIBLE, the service wonderful, and the atmosphere was really neat. Everything we ate was amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant and wish they would open another in Western Colorado!
