The food is good Irish pub fare, and it's about as authentic as you can get. If you're lucky there will be live Irish music playing in the background.

The food is very good and I especially like the pea wack soup (split pea). The lamb stew is fabulous. The atmosphere is plain and simple and the service is typically on the slow side so if you're on a timetable know this before going.

I visited this restaurant with two friends on a winter Monday afternoon to celebrate a mutual birthday. One of our party was born & raised in Belfast, one went to school in Dublin, and I just love most things Celtic. We chose the Evanston location due to ease of parking, among other things. The restaurant was not crowded at all... More

The bacon wrapped dates are yummy and the kid likes them. The other girl loves the chicken soup. Eats every bite!! Chicken pot pie is yummy too! Dark interior, pub atmosphere. Friend had Shepard's pie and said it was good. Only here for lunch with friends and kids, 2-4. Only for lunch. Same great server each time.

Beer specials about $3 and the Malbec was good also. Had appetizers here before. I will go again. It is across from the Hilton and Library.

We went to The Celtic Knot for dinner and stayed for the band. The salmon salad, fish and chips and the cheese platter were delish! The band was super too, just wish there was room for dancing. We will return!

When we fly east it's always a challenge to find an open restaurant late at night. Well, Evanston is a college town - but even so, this is a great late night spot - I think they close at 2 or 3 am. On a cold night - wonderful pea soup and Guinness beer! Great bar and pub food.

The back room here, while small, has a nice atmosphere for a small party. Food is OK, basically pub food, and the bar is nothing special, but they do good hors d'oeuvres for parties, and the service is excellent.

When I live din Evanston I never went here. My bad. Since moving away I return periodically and Celtic Know is a friendly bar and restaurant that makes you feel comfortable. My fav is the Irish breakfast (eggs, black & white pudding, bangers, rashers, beans). I am a sucker for this dish. They do it well. I always sit at... More
