Hearth Restaurant in Evanston's historic Homestead Hotel has some big shoes to fill. Under the guidance of chef Woody Linton, it hopes to surpass the culinary success accomplished by its predecessors, Cafe Provencal in 1977-1993 and Trio in 1993-2006. Located at 1625 Hinman Avenue, close to the Northwestern University campus, Hearth has made an impressive reputation in a hurry. The... More

Brought our family here for Easter Brunch & expected Great things having Loved it here for dinner & drooling over the Brunch menu. Still we had impeccable service & visit from quirky funny down-to-earth chef Woody who came out to chat with guests which was quite enjoyable! It was good, but the brunch was not comparable to the dinner in... More

Crab cakes and avocado fries for starters. The yummy Pork tenderloin snd grits. Finished off with a pecan tart. And don't forget those handmade biscuits. Chef JOHN even stopped by to make sure all was well and shared his passions.

Hearth is an an amazing restaurant! We were given by request a great table location, which was reserved for us right by a fireplace. The menu is eclectic, something for everyone and each dish is artistically done with a creative mix of tasty ingredients. The chive biscuits were warm right out of the oven and really delicious. Everyone from the... More

Fantastic from start to finish. Our party of four was warmly greeted. The lounge area was adorable. After a glass of wine at the bar, we were seated and acknowledged promptly by the server. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Then, the first course arrived. Tuna tartar, charred octopus that was amazing, and the MUST order on the menu: avocado... More

My daughter found this place. They opened a restaurant in this bed and breakfast hotel. Amazing food. Perhaps the best meal we have ever had in Evanston. Can't wait to go back!

We went to Hearth on Valentine's Day with their prix fixe menu. They were very accommodating when we wanted to increase our party size, which we really appreciated. The service was terrific, wine pairings spot on, and the food was amazing! Everything cooked as it should be. The chef popped out to see how things were. We were surprised at... More

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in Evanston. It is by far one of the best places to eat if not, the most. The food was great specially the almond fish and the avocado fries. Would definitely recommend this place and return as well.

While visiting my daughter at Northwestern , we had dinner on a Friday night at The Hearth. The dining room is actually quite small, so I would assume reservations are essential, which luckily we had made ahead of time. The menu is not extensive but offered a variety of seafood, vegetarian and meat options. I had the cauliflower soup and... More
