The most delicious Meatball sandwich I have ever had next to Mama's! The pepper and egg sandwich is equally as delicious

The sandwiches here used to be great. Not so great anymore. Please bring back the old sandwiches!! Overpriced for what we get now too.

I often work at the railyard adjacent to Al and Joe's so I often am looking for good local eats. This place certainly qualifies. First - it looks like a liquor store, don't be fooled. Second - it is a city deli, those don't come with white linen service so don't expect it. Real people eat here from the airport,... More

I stop by Al and Joe's every chance I get. I live in Plainfield and drive to Franklin Park for a large italian. The Food and the people are the best! Thank you Joe for keeping a Chicagoland Tradition alive and well.

After searching for a place to eat late (8 pm) on a Wednesday evening for an hour, I saw Al & Joe's as I was headed back to the hotel. Most other places were either closed for the night, closed for good, or should have been closed a long time ago. The young lady behind the counter was extremely pleasant... More

I live in the neighborhood and only eat here when I have to. The store is always dirty and needs a makeover. They attempted to make it nicer but they need real work not just paint and cheap flooring. The staff should wear gloves when they make food. I have had the person running the register make my sandwich after... More

When I was growing up in south suburban Blue Island, there were no delicatessens in the neighborhood so I never knew what a submarine sandwich was all about. In fact, I didn't experience my first Italian sub until I was in college. An old friend who grew up in Franklin Park tipped me off to Al & Joe's Deli at... More

Our 14 yr old picked this place to eat after Mass and what a find!! It's not fancy (think typical NYC deli that is 1/2 grocery store, 1/2 sub shop). The subs were wonderful-I recommend the Italian and the tiramisu was amazing. Great place and the employees were so nice and friendly.

Al and Joe's have the greatest Italian sub sandwiches - do you want to make someone jealous on your flight out of ORD ??? Stop here and grab one for the flight and a few for when you get home (just double bag plastic and it won't stink up the plane) - I am finishing my second to last sandwich... More
