My family has gone here since a was 5. We love the fried fish be it catfish, buffalo fish, walleye what ever it has all ways been good. I live in ohio now. What Kampsville calls onion rings Ohio people call onion straws. No the less it is fried onion rings. The corn fitters were great also.

A favorite place for our family. Kampsville isn't the same without Louie's! Over the years we had eaten here many times, wondering if they would open after the many floods they endured. They always did. So very sorry to hear that Louie had passed away.

I took my wife, my mother, and my son here for lunch. It was very, very good! We've never been disappointed coming here. The chicken livers are absolutely excellent! Five star good! The fried pork tenderloins are also very good. Everyone else had there's as a sandwich, I had mine open-faced style with gravy. Speaking for myself, mine was great.... More

We were in the neighborhood and someone recommended Louie's Kampsville Inn for dinner. "Best catfish you'll ever eat," he said. "But I've never eaten catfish," I said. "Try it. Trust me, you'll like it," he said. He was right. Louie's Kampsville Inn, located at 2nd and Joliet Street next to the Kampsville Ferry, is a popular gathering spot for residents... More

Met a friend there 2 days ago for lunch. Their fish is really good, large servings. We each had a chef salad that day...not one piece of meat in it. Never seen a chef salad like it before with sliced pickled beets, lg green olives and peppers on it, and no protein. Was not very appealing. I left hungry. Checking... More

I ate here by myself on a business weekend. Food was great, service was great, very friendly. I really enjoyed watching the ferry crossing the river. Staff made me feel right at home. I was the last person eating there, and I didn't feel rushed. Thank you.

I've eaten at this establishment 3 times and every time it has been nothing less than fantastic. We most recently stopped in for a bite over Mothers Day weekend (I'm catching up on reviews) and it was everything I had remembered from our past visits. The catfish is the best fish I have ever eaten. The service was typical of... More

If you want to enjoy a home-cooked meal while watching the activity on the river, this is the place. Food is good, prices are very reasonable, service is personal and friendly. This restaurant has been flooded out several times - they've marked the water levels on the wall - and it keeps resurrecting. We have to take the car ferry... More
