What I would call a hidden gem. Get off the interstate, go to the 4 way stop and make a left. Had two of the January hamburger specials, two mugs of root beer and a small ice cream cone for under 25.00 including tip. The...staff were outstanding and funny too!More

We got the deluxe burger and bacon cheeseburger with fries and onion rings which was delicious. The handmade root beer was also delicious. We also got Oreo and Snickers flurry's to go and was delicious 🤤

Nice local restaurant that has drive up, carry out and indoor seating. Good food and great service! Don’t forget ice cream for dessert and a frosted mug of root beer!

Skip the touted pizza burger - thin and tasteless patty coated an fried with a dollop of pizza sauce is plenty unerwhelming. The fried mushrooms were quite nicely done. The side salad that comes with burger platter is a small oddity for sure. Hot dogs...are no skimp beef dogs an worth ordering. But you go to the Root Beer Stand for the root beer - which is house made, and truly outstanding. Makes one fine root beer float. That's what we came for an that's what we got.More

I used to come here with my grandfather after fishing when I was a kid. 42 years later, I'm back. We had a pork tenderloin and cod along with a rootbeer float. Everything was delicious. Service was quick and friendly.

We had a group of about 25 people but each family was ordering separately. We all agreed that we wanted to try this place out. When we got there we were told 35 minutes and they were full. The prices were reasonable and the root...beer was good however the food was only average at best. I work in the fast food industry so I understand being busy and short staffed. But when we were paying our bill the crowd had died down they had 4 orders waiting to be filled (you could see it on their turntable) and I heard them tell a customer on the phone that there would be a 25 minute wait for an order of 4 hot dogs. If we took 25 minutes to cook 5 orders our owner would fire us all and get a new crew. Maybe stop by if you just want root beer or ice cream, take a hard pass on the food.More

Loved the root beer float! Hot dogs were also very tasty. Coney dog was not overly sweet and the chili dog was covered with melted cheese. After reading the reviews, I think we need to go back and order one of their burgers too.

We love Root Beer and this older establishment reminded us of the drive-in restaurants of the past. You could park and order and they would bring it to your car or you could eat inside. Great burgers, delicious Root Beer Floats and cheap prices. We...ate here twice during our short stay in town. Sorry we missed the classic car show.More

After a day of hiking at nearby Starved Rock we drove over to grab a bite to eat before heading home. Burger, onions rings / fries and root beer floats / shakes all around and we were satisfied. Friendly staff and good value too. We...ordered and ate from our car - inside dinning was not possible due to COVID but car service is part of the charm. Along with Woody the Root Beer Man statue. Definitely one of those local spots worth checking out if that's up your alley.More

I was born and raised on a farm, but live in Chicago now. I still love small towns, but can live without the small town politics and bigotry. But I didn't sense this here. Just friendly owner and staff, old guys having coffee before heading...for a bar, families enjoying lunch. Basically, America living out it's dream and it's destiny. And the lunch is not just a bargain, it's a blessing. Root beer is a distinct flavor and pleasant (I was raised on A&W draft), and the pork tenderloin, slaw, and other sandwiches were perfect. At lunch, our server was stretched pretty thin, but she managed. I'd go back in a heartbeat.More

Loved the look of the building. Brought back memories. The hamburger/rootbeer float guy out front is a great photo op. Only had rootbeer float. Pricey, but good.
