I found that this Hofbrauhaus was more expensive than the other ones, I'd been to in Cleveland, Columbus and Newport (across from Cincinnati). Not sure why the souvenir glasses are twice as much here. The food and beverages looked higher as well, but maybe because...More

this is a fast food tourist restaurant. the entire staff was indifferent and in quite a hurry. seemed overworked. the waitress seemed pressured when taking our orders and asked how our food was while literally running past the table. these are signs of bad management....More

I've been there several times, with family, friends, & coworkers. And amazing time every time. Being half German, the food is amazing! It's like going to my grandparents. The atmosphere is amazing, the live music, & horns are so good. I've never had a bad...More

I lived in Germany for 4 years and Hofbrauhaus brings me back. Gotta have the pretzel appetizer with mustard, sweet mustard and cheese. I understand the pretzels are flown in from Germany and they taste like it. Great German beer in abundance and a band...More

I came there for lunch and sat outside, since it was a nice sunny day. I was greeted by the hostess and then escorted to the open terrace where I could choose a table. Shortly thereafter the waitress came over (forgot the name) to take...More

Great restaurant, ambient, location, food, beer, service. All great. I would say better than in Munich and Hamburg, as there is no cues, nice new and clean place. Many thanks!!!

Just looks like the Hofbrauhaus in Berlin. If you wanna try German food and drink, that's the right place.

This is a beer hall. If you are going with a big group to drink heavily and scream to communicate then it's a 10! If you are going for conversation or good German food - don't waste your time. It's expensive and not authentic food...More

Julie, I do apologize about the experience. We had issues with our sound yesterday and had trouble controlling the music levels. That is being fixed today. I do agree it is not the easiest to get here. Rosemont has done a nice job with the...More

The building is a huge replica of the Hofbrauhaus in Munich, very authentic looking. Well endowed waitresses and traditional liter beer mugs. Beer was good, food dissappointing. We ordered the 'German Brat', Nuremberg sausages and some kasespaetzl. Food tasted like it had been frozen for...More

So close to being perfect... They just need to get a band that plays "Bayernhymne"! The band could play "Riesengebirgelied" and "Kufsteinlied", but not the State (National) Hymne of Bavaria!!!!

Description
Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.
