We preorderd a full afternoon tea here, and it was just right! as we had not had lunch, the finger sandwiches, scones with jam & cream plus small cakes, was a real treat. Beautifully presented and freshly made. The tea-pot was refilled too! The only gripe is that it was a little cold inside the tea-room. It was a chilly... More

The most amazing scones I have ever had in my life, and i have had a lot of scones, they are huge and very tasty, they make them here everyday fresh and serve them with clotted cream, my wife had the jacket potato, wow it was huge and oven baked not microwaved like so many places. This really is a... More

I expected the costs to higher than average but to be served a multipack can of drink for £1 does take the biscuit. The cost for a miniscule cake slice suggests that one whole cake would cost close to £200. Over priced, no atmosphere and from the front looks grubby.

Thank you for your review, however we feel its criticism is unjust, firstly the can of drink, you were not forced to buy this if you feel that £1.00 was to much then the village shop is a 5 minute walk away and would sell you one for probably the same amount, then you have the generous slice of homemade... This place has changed little. It totally lacks atmosphere. It tries and fails to be oldy worldy. To only have one plugged in wall radiator was ridiculous you shouldn't have to eat with your coats on. The toilet was freezing with no means to dry your hands. Not sure why the poor harrassed lone young staff member has to dress... More

I had cream tea, which was rather expensive. Scones were oversized in my opinion, was not able to eat one of them Wish they would make small scones for less money, so that the experience remains enjoyable. Otherwise nice little tea room I however had to wait lots of time before I got served, and I was not pleased with... More

Dropped in for lunch today with a friend. Very disappointing. Lacks atmosphere, service slow and functional. We both ordered jacket potatoes which were undercooked, salad consisted mainly of iceberg lettuce, coleslaw was very heavy on the mayonnaise. We both left lots. Rather expensive and very mediocre. Will not return, there are much nicer places in the village.

Went to Shelley's tea rooms in St. Margaret's today. We had 1 ham sandwich, 2 cheese scones, bottle of water and a tea. It was quite expensive at more than £15.00. Not comparable to other local tea shops in Deal/Dover. The sandwich had plenty of ham in it but the bread was standard thick sliced bread. The cheese scones were... More

Came here for a panini and had a slice of cake and a coffee while waiting the hourly bus back to Dover, was quite surprised when it cost around £16 per person, food is nice but not fantastic or worth it.... Nice cakes though

Thank you for taking the time to review us, we are delighted that you enjoyed your food, regarding the price if you had had the most expensive panini and coffee and a slice of cake it would not come to anything like £16 so assuming that that was what you had and that £16 was what you paid, something is... This was our second visit in two weeks, (the first was uneventful) and we were very disappointed with the service. We were the only customers yet the sole waitress seemed to be in her own world and forgot to serve us. When a second customer arrived she dealt with him pleasantly enough but clearly couldn't multi-task and we continued to... More
