We was riding north to the starved rock area to see the site and noticed this place so we stopped to try it out. The service was good and the food was great. We will be back.

This spot has everything you'd expect from the name. If you've never had gator, give it a shot. The title refers to both the owner and the cuisine.
I highly recommend this taste of Louisiana in north central Illinois. The menu is easy to navigate, the service is excellent, and the food is great.
Where to start? The jambalaya or gumbo? The gator or shrimp? The turtle (when available)? Yes, there can be a wait, but it is worth it.----trust me! Ron knows his stuff, and that's what keeps us coming back.
