This restaurant is known to serve German style food. You can even order pig knockles and sauerkraut or red cabage. Although the taste isn't completely like the original, it is still good and tasty food. The plates are also full like you expect to be...More

We went here because I am German and hadn't had good German food in some time. The kraut balls are homemade and amazing as are the deep fried dill pickles. The food was good, but the store bought bread could have been left off. Would...More

We had a group of 10 here for a casual business lunch. Luckily we had reservations because this place was slammed at 11:30. Obviously this is popular with the locals, and that scored a point with me. There were several specials and the menu was...More

Passing through town and needed a restaurant, stubbled upon Gerst Haus online and gave them a try. Super rural, small town feel to the place, but it's huge with massive ceilings and booths. Didn't have any beers but the lineup looked pretty solid. Food was...More

We came across this place when we were in town for the annual Nut Club Festival. Told ourselves we would eat there the next chance we got. As 1st time visitors, we were very, very impressed with the authentic German food! Although they do serve...More

This restaurant is quite unique. It is located in an old hardware store building. They have a very good menu. I particularly like their Rueben sandwich. It is very tasty and can be served with German fries.

I come from WI originally, land of brats, beer and cheese so I know my wursts. Then in Columbus, OH we have German Village and Schmidt's with Bahama Mama. While I prefer the spiciness of the Bahama Mama, these brats from Gerst were excellent. The...More

Delicious food, great service and a beer selection that boggles the mind! All in a really fun atmosphere! Try the Gerst beer, any of the wursts and the sauerkraut and/or the red cabbage! The best you will find outside of Germany in our opinion (and...More

The Reuben was great. We tried a variety of appetizers and weren't overly impressed, but tons of beer options from around the world and great service. Would give a 9/10. But 4/5 it is. Definitely recommend if you're in town.
