Food is outstanding. Huge sandwiches and the strawberry cheesecake is to die for. It is served cafeteria style but line moves fast. All of their food is excellent. It’s not cheap so don’t think that you can get away with a cheap meal. Worth it

No matter when you go the food is good, hot and plentiful. Just like home. My sister and I had the cabbage roll and it was like grandma had just taken it out of the oven. The slightly sweet sauce is perfect for dunking the...More

I tried this while in Indy and it was good. They serve you cafeteria style and the line went quickly enough. Went in the afternoon instead of peak hours. I tried the tongue sandwich, sounds gross but was good actually, and a decent size. Kind...More

If your looking for home cooked food in large portion sizes then this is the place for you. Sandwiches big enough to share.

Now that I’ve experienced Shapiro’s in Indianapolis, the bar has been raised on corned beef. Good thing I was hungry! Piled high on some super rye bread with spicy mustard and Swiss cheese, this sandwich goes to the top of my list.

I come to Indianapolis once a year on business and Shapiro’s is a must stop for me. Great pastrami, rye bread, stuffed cabbage, and cabbage borscht.

I had to stop here and try one of the legendary sandwiches. I'm a huge Reuben fan, so i tried it and loved it. Mac and cheese was also very good, but maybe a little too salty for my taste.

This should be your first stop in Indy, and yes, you should get the reuben. Yes, you can split it with somebody else because then you'll have room for latkes and oh, gracious the desserts. They cleverly present them first in the cafeteria-style service and...More

A deli, a diner and a cafeteria with a bit of NYC thrown in the mix--it really is only a bit. But if you're rolling thru Hoosier land, it's easy off and on from the interstate, and miles away from the chain choices available at...More
