We were staying in the area for a few nights and went for an evening meal, even though it was a Monday night and not overly busy we were made to feel extremely welcome and the service, the food and the ambiance were superb, the...menu had plenty of choices and we had a very enjoyable evening, totally recommend , it’s also dog friendly in the bar end which had lots of lovely tables with comfy chairs, & also a real fire. Would definitely visit again when in the area. They also stay open until 11pm even when quiet which I think is very commendable in these difficult times. BRILLIANT 👍More

Never been here before and we were very pleasantly surprised. Good sized garden, very friendly and helpful staff, varied menu and drinks at a reasonable prize. Will definitely be going there again.

Came in today with my wife and two children. We've been here before and it continues to impress. We sat in a little room just on the right as you come in the main door, I had no idea it was there until today. We...all had a roast and it was lovely. Great food, very well priced, the service was excellent and the staff are very friendly. Really recommend a little drive out of the city, it is well worth the trip. Great stuff. 😊More

This place used to be great because the playpark kept the kids entertained. This has sadly been taken away now but is still advertised. Nice garden still but not as good as it once was. Shame.More

Booked a table here for 13:30 on Saturday 4th September. It was a beautiful day, so chose to sit in the pub garden when given the choice. Unfortunately, by 14:00 we still hadn't been asked what drinks we wanted. I fully understand a Saturday in...the sunshine can be very busy, but the place wasn't rammed and there were a fair few empty tables. The problem was, was that five different groups of people came in after us and were served with drinks and one table with food. At this point, thirty minutes on, we decided to leave. Unfortunately the place have missed out on a Christmas day booking, as that was the reason for our visit. However, not all bad news, as I managed to get a booking for a table at the George in Backwell, the next village up. Service was much better and food amazing.More

A little gem of a pub serving good quality food which was served hot and fresh. This was our second visit and will return All the small has smiles on there faces and polite when serving. There was a slight delay in serving of the...meals due to a large party Huw the manager informed use which was great although delay was not excessive. Excellent service from all members of staffMore

Drove here in our Campervan, asked if we could park for the night and told yes ! Then noticed they served Rev James and discovered it was a Brains pub. Heaven. Then found I could have a 2 course meal inc rump steak with pepper...sauce for £14.50. Could it get any better? Only if you asked for an old beer towel and got given a new one instead. We be back !More
