I have enjoyed this establishment at its original location and it's newer location for over thirty years. They have the best potstickers I have ever had, and Chef Kevin's hot braised wings are amazing !!!

We enjoyed lunch at the Mandarin. Booths and tables both available. Quiet, thus enabling conversation. Service was professional and personal. The menu item we ordered were very flavorful and fresh. Vegetables were crisp, and the spices just right. We would suggest using organic carrots, sliced by the chef, though, as opposed to the "baby carrots." We will return soon. Perfect... More

We had the best server, Julian, was so friendly, made suggestions, answered questions. The food was really good, fast, fresh and we had plenty left over, also tried sushi which was really good. Will be back.

Food came very quickly on a Saturday evening. Orange beef was tasty and a bit spicy! Korean bul-go-gi was decent though I'd choose something else next visit. The veggies accompanying were nothing to write home about. People have said the TNT sushi roll is very good there - didn't get a chance this time.

Mandarin beef is the absolute best. Served over a bed of lettuce may seem odd but it's delish! Sizzling rice soup and pot stickers are also a must. =)

This is a regular stop for our work crew. We enjoy dining here at least once a week for lunch. They have freshly made sushi, with a large selection to choose from. I especially enjoy the Chinese lunch specials. Everything from chicken chow mein...Shrimp lo mein...Sweet and Sour chicken...Midnight Shrimp, my personal favorite, and their super delicious Hot n' Sour... More

There are some interesting menu choices. The dishes were as advertised on the menu and done well. The ambience is also good. Unfortunately the service was bad. The waiter was not attentive, the joint was not busy so no excuse for the rude behavior. Similar service was being dished out to other tables around us. The owner and hostess was... More

When The Mandarin was in Beaverdale it had charm, value and personality. Food is just ok now. Portions are inconsistent, family order would only feed 2, don't know what the rest of the family would have eaten. Atmosphere, the music, is American not the restaurants culture. They have taken items out of the menu. You must ask for sweet n... More

They make the best Ja Ja Mung in town upon request. It's a Korean dish but they'll make if for you if you ask them. It's quite a treat.

We really enjoy the quality of food at Mandarin Grill and Sushi Bar in Clive. We tried the vegetable egg rolls, crabmeat Rangoon and hot wings as appetizers and liked them all. They also have really tasty chicken lo mein. It's a nice local Chinese place that cooks fresh to order. Highly recommend!

Great long-time Des Moines area restaurant that moved to a new location a few months ago. Recently got an excellent review by the Des Moines Register's restaurant critic, who is really good. Just ate there tonight and I'd love to give them a good review.
