About 25 of us older folks went to our monthly luncheon. Great service, menu and food. We kind of too over the place since it might hold 50-60 people. I'm sure we will go back.

Small, quaint restaurant, with the menu done on a chalkboard, or on mirrors! Not a fancy place- but very "local" in style. Very friendly waitress/owner, makes you feel right at home. Features the locally famous "Ronnie's Cinnamon or Pecan Rolls"- they are good, but not the best I've ever had.

From the friendly greeting by Jo to the lovely decor, delicious Norwegian food, and pleasant atmosphere, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We ate meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, salmon patties, butternut squash soup, Norwegian rye bread, and Rommegrot for dessert.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and fast. We shared an order of the lefse, which is a very thin traditional soft Norwegian flatbread. We got four small pieces. I spread butter and brown sugar on mine, and my husband used the gravy from his meal... More

A nice little family owned operation that has some great homemade Norwegian rye bread. Had to pick up a loaf to take home. Breakfast was good and service was quick. Not much more to ask for a breakfast place!

We popped in while passing through Decorah on our way to the Effigy Mounds based on the excellent reviews seen here and on other review sites. The service was great, very friendly people. My husband ordered catfish which was good and he was even given help getting it off the bone. Mum had the Norwegian meatballs which were great, sister... More

Claims to have been voted #1 best cinnamon roll in Iowa. Skip the cinnamon roll. Pancakes were good for $4.50 for two. $2.50 for toast. $9.85 for two eggs, hash browns and 2 sausage patties. Charge you 1.50 if you pay with a debit or credit card.

We enjoyed the wonderful homemade food and fast service. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection. The menu is extensive and all homemade.

I think almost everything on the menu is homemade - from the sweet rolls to the pickled beets to the Norwegian meatballs. This is a locals favorite where everyone seems to know everyone else and that's part of the fun of eating here. Be sure to stop for breakfast or lunch if you're in Decorah!

We visited yesterday with my cousin who is from the area because of reviews we saw. Although the people working there were friendly we were very disappointed in the food. Two of us ordered hot beef sandwiches and the bread and gravy were good but the meat was so tough I had to use a steak knife to cut it... More
