Great food and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and didn't bat an eye when my road-weary toddlers took over the front of the restaurant. Come to think of it, that may have been why they placed us so close to the door...

I have been to this restaurant several times over the years. The cantina is great, good happy hour specials and the food is the best I have come across in the Midwest. It easily compares to the best in SoCal that I have had.

After ziplining in Dubuque, we enjoyed delicious maragritas at Los Aztecas. (Available in sm, med & lg!) Soft shell beef tacos were tender and spicy as were the chicken tacos. Quesadillas had little cheese on them, but they provided more on request. Complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. Loved the colorful tablecloths and the friendly and the service was friendly... Try the carnitas or enchilada souzas, very good. The carne asada is the best steak in town if you can eat the whole thing. Very nice employees, family oriented too. The refried beans are a hit and miss depending on who's cooking that day. Over all very good, my favorie is the fish tacos, very fresh fish each time I... More

While I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, this is said to be the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Dubuque. I've heard they have great Margaritas, too.

My daughter ate her taco and my son his quesadilla, but my husband's food was incredibly greasy. My chicken pipian was not like it used to be- the sauce was insipid and if there were nuts in it they were invisible. The sauce used to be thick and spicy, full of ground nuts. THis was like canned enchilada sauce. Then... More

I lived in Mexico, I am an American. My wife is Mexican. Los Aztecas is not good quality REAL Mexican food. I believe the owner is Guatemalan. I found the meat they use was very cheap and sloppy. I've never gone back. Theirs is NOT true Mexican food.

it was recommended by the super 8 host and decided to try it. The atsomphere of the restaurant was alive and friendly. the food was excellent. I had the chicken tacos and my husband had the steak burittos. we both made a good choice. The price was average when if comes to mexican food.

Excellent chips, salsa, and margaritas. Great atmosphere and fast service. Super fast service for lunch in and out. On your birthday they sing and you get to wear a sombrero. They have two locations in Dubuque, the location on the west end has outdoor seating which is nice during the summer.
