Variety of great sandwiches and salads with a variety of sides, baked beans, potato salad, or chips. Fun decor.

Love this place. It never changes. I used to eat here often and meet friends after work for a beer. I moved out of town for 20 years and just moved back. Went to lunch there last week and it was just as good as I remember. Still looks the same too.

I was meeting an old friend there for lunch recently and enjoyed an order of half a sandwich along with a side for lunch. I ordered the famous #8 with a side of Broccoli salad. It was very good! I knew the #8 would be, it's always been my favorite. And the bread they use for it is the best!... More

We saw Artichoke Sandwich Bar as we left the hospital which is close by. We were hungry and thought it looked interesting. We loved the Pub-like atmosphere. Good service and sandwiches were great. Generous portions. The Broccoli Salad side dish was really good. I think we'll make this "our place" as my husband continues medical treatment.

Certainly not high end, but consistently good. We love to stop in for beer, sandwiches and listen to live music. Always a good time.

You will find excellent sandwiches and salads here. They have some unique combinations and a wonderful chef salad. It's an older establishment probably not suited for large parties but they have an assortment of booths and tables. On certain nights they feature live musicians.

The sandwiches were amazing. Lots of variety and fresh breads. Small Irish pub that was a great find. I would recommend you look this one up on your next trip.

The Artichoke has some of the best sandwiches in town! Cold beer on tap, and live entertainment on Friday night! It's a bit of a Wichita landmark.

The Artichoke is located on the corner of Murdock and Broadway. We serve the best sandwiches in wichita! We also cater. We have several beers on tap and live music on weekends. We also host singer songwriter circle and a open mic once a month. The Artichoke was est. March 15th 1984, by three friends. Bobby Scofield , Steve Wilson, and Patrick Audley. I am Pat and I am the only original owner left... How did the Artichoke get its name??? Bobby had just returned from a ski trip in Colorada and had eaten at a restaurant on the slope called the Artichoke. He thought it was a catchy name and that is how the Artichoke came to be called the Artichoke Sandwich Bar. One big part of the Artichokes' success is due to its location, 811 N. Broadway. The current building use to be a residenticial, then an addition was added on the front and it held several bussiness, such as Burr Cafe, Gambles Restaurant, Jayhawk Lounge, The Elbow Room, whom we purchased it from 30 years ago. We estimate this buildling is well over 100 years old. I contriubute some of our success to my ability to pick good business associates, who managed the establishment during the day. Which allowed me to continue to do what I do best and that is to spend 32 years in the Wichita Public School classrooms.I have had the following managers. The late Jennifer Parish, Nancy Parish, and Juanita Albert. My personal favorite and The Artichokes current manager my lovely wife Ms. Molly. I want to thank all of our loyal customers for all their support during these last 30 years and look forward to the next 30 years ;)
