The stretch of highway along Route 35 is a lonely one. There are a ton of franchise cookie cutter salty flavorless restaurants at the pit stops . This is not one of them. Great place, stop here above any other if you're driving in this area. You won't regret it.

Williamsburg is about an hour south and west of Kansas City. A tiny town with a huge reason to stop. Guy & Mae's tavern. While I think of it as a classic cowboy bar, I often see guys in business clothes. The walls and ceilings are covered with signed dollar bills! The menu is straight forward- Fantastic BBQ and perfect... More

You must go out of your way to visit this family managed BBQ icon. It's cash only. Order the ribs. Ask for extra sauce. Enjoy the pool table an juke box while you rub your belly in satiated bliss.

Why do you drive 120 miles round trip to eat ribs??? Because they are some of the best that you can eat. When I asked my wife what she wanted to eat she said " I'm hungry for Guy & Mae's ribs. So off we go. Great smoked beef and turkey as well. Great food and friendly ladies that serve... More

A small town, easy going BBQ place that makes good food! You can have a beer sit back and enjoy the company of friends and good BBQ.

Ignore the crazy political signs as you turn off of the interstate into town. The town has died with the exception of Guy and Mae's bar. The barbeque ribs - there is no other reason to come, are served on newspaper. Have a side if you like, they're nothing special, but hog down on the ribs. Get as messy as... More

Seriously, there is nothing in Williamsburg but what a great place for ribs. You would have to know someone who knows about this place to find it! We got a rack to go - it was AWESOME! Worth another trip from Canada for these ribs!

Yes I am the Guy that Drives that many miles in blinding rain, for BBQ. At Guy & Mae's. Yes I am crazy but the Ribs are Just as I remember fantastic. The meat is so tender that it falls off the Rib bone. I ordered two slabs of Ribs to take home and while I waited I also had... More

It's been at least 20 years since I've eaten here. One night a few months ago a bunch of us were talking about BBQ and I mentioned Guy & Mae's. It's been on my mind ever since. We recently had a wedding to go to in the Wichita area and I made my husband drive 2 1/2 hours out of... More

The kids still do it the way Guy & Mae taught them. Ribs smoked just right, wrapped in foil, and served on a leftover copy of the Ottawa Herald. The sides are just okay, and you'll want a bite of slaw and beans, but the ribs are the reason to be here and you should order more than you think... More
