Attractive surroundings, 1930s building, helpful attentive service, and fine food. House made specialties: slaw, beets, burgoo & cornbread all yummy. Turkey dinner and fried cod dinner were served hot and flavorful. Barely room for biscuit pudding with bourbon raisin sauce. Will travel back there to dine again!

Kurtz is a charming place across from My Old Kentucky Home. It has been there since 1937 and owned by the same family. I am a native Kentuckian who loves fried chicken for Sunday dinner and they really know how to prepare it, along with lots of delicious sides, salads and desserts.....too many to name. I loved the Bourbon Biscuit... More

All of our meals were good. The waitress was accommodating. The soups were delicious. Getting the family matriarch at the desk was special. However, the most outstanding part of the meal was the dessert. It was a biscuit pudding with bourbon sauce. We came to do the Bourbon Trail but this place alone is worth the trip to Kentucky.

We visited Kurtz on April 9, 2017 for our first time. The food was very good. ( We both had the fried chicken and it was cooked perfectly) The service was excellent! When we asked the waitress directions to a local attraction, she and others got involved to help us find our way. Before we knew it, the owner came... More

I always try to eat local and I loved this place. After eating there, I wondered why some of the reviewers had issues. From the minute we walked in, we were greeted by a very lovely older woman. Our waitress was efficient and very attentive. Another woman came by after we ordered to let us know she was checking on... More

Ann was our waitress...highly recommend her. She was awesome and amazing. I ordered the chicken livers, which were GREAT. It's the primary reason why I choose this place. I had the corn pudding to go with and this dish was just awesome. My man got the fried chicken dinner and he to enjoyed his dinner. The cocktails were good. I... More

First... Big thanks to both the Owner and our Server, Ann. They were incredible host and made our group feel very welcome. The food.. We all got some form of combo with the Fried Chicken and it was amazing. The sides were well prepared. There was a minor hiccup with part of one of the dinner orders, and it was... More
