The atmosphere may be simple but the food is always good. Breakfast can be counted on, lunch is good--variety of meats and vegetables to choose from. The desserts are really good and big--enough to eat half there and take the rest home for later. Friendly service

Ran across this place while on a trip from Nashville to Louisville and my wife and I really enjoyed. We took advantage of a daily special-2 meals for $11.99. Each meal included choice of 1 meat and 3 sides along with cornbread or biscuit. There are 4 meats to choose from (we both got the meatloaf) and a large variety... More

This is a local restaurant that offers daily specials with some of the best pies you can find. The prices are super and you get plenty of food.

Great food at a great price! Just home town food without frills. I had the fried chicken greens, and butter beans. My husband had the grilled porkchops and three sides. Large portions. Only con was no pepper sauce for the greens, just vinegar. All this food under $20!!!!

I don't want to knock this place, we had breakfast it was ok, this is definitely a local place. I had nanas big breakfast, it was good but it was nothing special. If you are in the area hit it up, don't go out of your way as we did. Staff was decent, but it took 1/2 hr to 45... More

The name of the place is HOT PLATE....our food was cold when it was served. So much for the name of the restaurant. We should have sent it back, but we hate to complain. And, you gotta wonder why something like fried chicken is not served piping hot. The service was quite good, the waitress was quite friendly and efficient.... More

Don't let the storefront appearance fool you-it's very non-assuming. Best thing was the prices! Had breakfast here; biscuits/gravy, eggs sausage hash browns and orange juice for under $7.00! Waitress was pleasant. You can tell it's a local hangout. Atmosphere/decor leaves a big to be desired-very plain and ordinary. Food was great though!

The food was delicious and hot! We had the meat and three. I would never have thought to order meatloaf in a restuarant, but that is what I had and is was delicious! My husband had the chicken livers. They were good, but the coating could have been less "crunchy". The sides were tasty and hot! The desserts were wonderful.... More

We tried this place strictly on the TripAdvisor reviews. Thanks ya'll ! We ate there twice in a week. Let's be clear. This is a local, down-home, diner-like experience. It is not to be confused nor even remotely compared to fine dining. But what they do, they do well. My spouse considers himself a fried chicken expert. He declared Hot... More
