The restaurant seems to have struggled over the years. They've changed their name once, and I can't count the number of times the menu has changed. I think their original menu was the best but it was probably so large they couldn't afford to keep it. I really loved their Monte Cristo, but they stopped offering it a few years... More

We went here to celebrate my daughter's college graduation on 5/6. The wait was long, but the food was definitely worth it. The only reason this doesn't have five stars is the service. Our original server came and got our beverage orders. Then she passed us off to a girl she was supposed to be training, except the trainer never... More

I went on a Monday night and it was fairly busy, with locals. I had a white pizza and side salad. Pizza was good, I wish it was a little crisper based on oven type and crust style. Basil added nice flavor, wish maybe a little more olive oil. Clean place and nice staff.

We visited on Mothers' Day. Good crowd, but the restaurant had planned ahead with a slightly smaller menu, and two buffets. Food was very good, and service was attentive, courteous, and efficient. Three of us dined for under $60, including their excellent Onion Straws. Most places try to match Outback's Bloomin' Onion, but Jabo's shreds the onion, deep fries it,... More

Trying to avoid some of the chain and franchise places, we found the Coal River Grille, which was fairly close to our motel. The wait staff was friendly and the food we ordered was quite good. The atmosphere was great for enjoying friends, around the table.

Took a supervisor here for lunch after he was told about it. Had delicious soup and sandwich combo in a great atmosphere in a comfortable booth. Very private seating and prices are hard to beat for really good food. I will become a regular as I visit Hazard, Ky frequently.

Service was excellent. Food was very good. The facility, for being a fairly new establishment, is already showing need for some maintenance. I suppose when your clientele is hard working, hard living young folks, some abuse will happen. For instance, the sinks in the men's room were clearly top of the line when installed, but now were cracked in more... More

I absolutely love this place. Good variety of food, great atmosphere, and down to earth. Just a must stop in hazard. You won't be disappointed.
