This vintage ice cream stand is a delight. They serve delicious soft serve ice cream, sundaes, shakes, flurries, cones, black cows, and also a few snacks such as hot dogs. Order from the walk-up window and then devour your treats at one of the outdoor tables. Dairy Kastle is only open in the spring/ summer/ and fall. Customers include families... More

My favorite is the "Brown Derby." The ice cream here is soft serve, but the place has atmosphere and it is a great place to stop on a hot summer evening. The lines are typically very long in the evening hours, as the place has a reputation. I have been going to Dairy Kastle for years, and will continue to... More

We love going to the Dairy Kastle for chili cheese dogs, malted milk shakes, sundaes and soft serve ice cream. It was the best way to spend the last day of summer before going back to school! There is outdoor seating, but it's uncovered and don't expect anything fancy. The staff is ridiculously nice. Be advised to bring CASH, as... More

It's a traditional meet up spot for friends and family. The line moves quickly and the ice cream is fantastic. A lovely local spot.

Great prices, great food and ice cream. If you never been here you are missing one of our gems. Yummy chili dogs, taco in a bag. Ice cream as you like it, shakes, malts , sundaes, vanilla, chocolate and orange sherbet cones and brown derby. Don't let the long lines scare you off. Lines would not be long if the... More

If you have never been to Dairy Kastle you have definitely cheated your taste buds!!! This place has the BEST chilli dogs in Louisville and the milk shakes are awesome!!! This business is nonprofit, and all proceeds go to charity.

A very cute old-time food place. On a busy Corner. Lots of hot dogs and ice cream type menu items. Ice cream was very good and yummy. The place was fairly clean. Parking lot was crowded.

We stopped here, assuming that the long lines were a sign that it was good. The line moved quickly and the ice cream was very good. They have some interesting items on the menu.

You know it's spring when Dairy Castle opens. There is always a large crowd when the weather is warm. Good news- the lines move quickly and the servers are cheery. We usually opt for a chocolate-peanut butter shake and enjoy it on the steps of the church across the street. Sadly, the few tables and seats are usually taken. They... More
