Downtown after 5pm there are only a few restaurants open and most are expensive or just bars. Capital City Grill isn't cheap but it's cheaper than Stroubs and within easy walking distance to the River Center. We had shrimp and grits, hush puppies, and a cheeseburger. The service was good. The hugh puppies were excellent as was the shrimp and... More

Visited downtown and found this restaurant while walking around. From the minute I asked to see a menu to when we paid our check everyone was so pleasant and welcoming. They have a great selection of local beer and a menu to cover just about anyone. We had salads mine with Salmon and my husband had the fried oyster salad.... More

We dropped in for an early lunch before Mardi Gras parade began downtown. Very pleased with food. Green dried tomatoes w/ crab was great appetizer, pecan trout w/ rice and zucchini...excellent, and the huge chicken salad on tossed salad w/ pecans...very nice! Service was fast, attentive w/o pushy...And we were out and front line to catch our parade beads. Good... More

Stop for a drink at snack after exploring the Capital. Sat at the bar, enjoyed a glass of wine & shared a bread pudding. Service was average, it was particularly lacking when we were ready to leave & wanted our bill.

Business colleague and I walked over to Capitol Grille since a) it was close to downtown Hilton and b) the hotel shuttle driver recommended it. Both of us have eaten wonderful food in Baton Rouge and were looking forward to the same. But as soon as we saw the menu we knew we had chosen wrong. Very very few Louisiana... More

Need to be a little more accommodating, we have tried several times and any time we have had more than 10 people we have been turned away. We like the food and environment and definitely the location is very convenient.

We decided to eat at Capital City Grill since it was across the street from Hotel Indigo we were staying in. The service was very attentive, we were seated at a table with a great view of the bridge with a setting sun and downtown area of Baton Rouge. We started with the Banger Shrimp for an appetizer, they were... More

Good menu selection: burgers, salads, local fare. Had a nice selection of the local beers. Staff friendly and I received my food promptly. Ordered the chicken sandwich.

Stopped by here after dinner for a drink with hubby. Wonderful friendly staff (thanks Austin), and amazing happy hour with generous offerings Monday through Fridays 4-7. Half off apps, five dollar martinis, two dollar domestic beer, three dollar house wines and well liquors. It's worth stop in!
