Crawfish Etouffee was fantastic! It's hard to please 9 people but Sammy's did it! Almost everyone had"special requests" and the sever didn't bat an eye. I didn't hear any complaints so that's good. LOL. The place was packed. We thought that was a great sign.

Sammy's is what you would home cooking fora Southern Louisiana restaurant. It's a mainstay and unlike other mainstays, it's not just a tradition for the locals. Often times restaurants that have been around for years get stale but the locals keep coming because that's what...More

had the grilled shrimp poyboy. A lot to eat, hot and fresh. The waitress gave us a sample of some things since we were not familiar with some of the Cajun food. Very nice and good eats.

The food was very good, but place was loud, like a barroom. Food was a little pricey, but had some very unique good tasting seafood. Will try again at a not so busy time, maybe early lunch.

Gumbo a bit spicier than some in the area, but everyone's is slightly different. Very good. Onion rings were very good as well. I would definitely go back.

Best crawfish in Baton Rouge. Period. It's so popular you can have a small wait to get a table or a seat if you're there dinnertime. But it's worth the wait - hang out in the bar. The drinks are stout and the beer is...More

Boudin Cake? Really? Yes they have it as appetizer. I had two servings of it because they were so good. These guys are one of the Louisiana best. The Red Fish dish is exceptional. Nice and very friendly staff, old fashion Louisiana hospitality, food, drinks...More

Huge quantities. Family style. Very casual. Good IPA. Fried seafood that tastes fresh. Not a fine dining experience by any stretch. But authentic crawfish and lots of shrimp and catfish options as well.

Ate at Sammy's in Central Sunday evening. Dinner was just okay. My order of grilled shrimp salad was not 'grilled' by any means. More just cooked though with no seasoning. My husbands boiled shrimp avocado salad had a lot more flavor. Appetizers of fried cheese...More
