I love this place! The food is wonderful, the gumbo is so good and if you're on a budget this is your place. They give such large portions........you will most likely need a doggie bag. I try to just get the jambalaya, but I always get the gumbo too. If you've got small children or teenagers, this place is very... More

I was very pleased with this restaurant. Do not let the "strip mall" fool you. This is some great food!! More than you can eat--so you should plan on sharing. Even my teen-aged son could not finish his meal.

Man, those WHITE BEANS were off the hook!!! Best I've ever had! And I'm 40+ yrs old. Born and bred in Louisiana. Been eating Louisiana food all my life. I had the Jambalaya and the White Beans tonight for the first time from this restaurant. I wish I had known a long time ago how good it was because I... More

"Jambalaya, Crawfish Pie, File Gumbo...." It's the lyrics to a an iconic song and plate #1 on the menu at Jambalaya Shoppe. The jambalaya was SO good! If you grew up eating this food you'll feel like you're eating your grandmother's home cooking. If you're visiting from out of town you'll have the chance to try real Cajun cooking at... More

Had a very good lunch starting with gumbo then a huge plate of Jambalaya and crawfish pie! Would definitely recommend visiting. Looking forward to my next visit to Baton Rouge.

If you want some Jambalaya, but don't feel like cooking it, Jambalaya Shoppe is the closest thing to homemade. Same for their gumbo - very satisfying on a cold day to go and grab some for lunch.

You MUST go here if you are in Baton Rouge! I have never had jambalaya so when I got there, I sat at a table and watched people order for about 10 minutes because I had no idea what to order. Well, since my husband and I went twice while we were there, I can say, everything is amazing! I... More

When you walk in you, you think, they couldn't afford an interior designer? It's simple and efficient restaurant with very few amenities. But with the first fork full of jambalaya, none of that matters. Let the feast begin
