My wife and I came here for brunch this morning. The food was great. The service was good and the atmosphere was South Louisiana. If you're in the area, stop in and try it.

There's a line to get into this place in the morning, that's when they have a local Zydeco band in to entertain folks. If you come for lunch there's no live music but you do get to look at this beautiful old feed store and eat some really inspired cooking.
What a great little restaurant for a true Cajun breakfast. Excellent food and good service. This is a place the locals of Breaux Bridge come for their morning day starter. You have to have Community Coffee to start, with its chicory flavor. Have a serving of beignets with your coffee before ordering crawfish etouffee.
Very nice atmosphere, live music, great place to visit if you stay in Lafayette or if you are heading to NOLA
While I'd hate to rate this restaurant unfavorablly based on one visit, I must say I was disappointed in the side dishes, not the taste or flavor; they were great. There was just so little of them, two or three bites. Still, the service and food were both great and definitely worth a repeat visit.
We stopped by for brunch on Saturday and WOW! The Zydeco Music and dancing was a blast. The omelette and cheese grits were great. It was crowded but we were seated almost immediately. Definitely worth the drive from Baton Rouge.
Hubby & I are on our way from DFW to NOLA. We ended up by passing Lafayette before we decided to stop and eat lunch. Boy, were we in luck! Trip Advisor Near Me Now found this lovely restaurant. Jordan gave us excellent service and the food was outstanding. We had a super flavorful BBQ shrimp appetizer served with amazing... More
Just happened to stop in Breaux Bridge on our way from Mobile to Lake Charles. A truly wonderful meal - from the crawfish bisque to the chocolate pecan pie. Can't wait to visit on my next trip to Louisiana!
This was my first time to this restaurant and I went with my mother specifically for the Saturday morning Zydeco Breakfast. They have a band every Saturday morning from 8:30am-11:30am and a $5 cover charge, which is totally worth it. Leroy Thomas and The Zydeco Roadrunners were the performers and they were amazing! If you enjoy cajun music and dancing,... More
We took our 8- and 4-year-old grandchildren to dinner last Friday. The food was great, but more importantly, our waiter catered to the children. He brought them a box of "bar swords" and had them each grab a handful. Then he served them the root beer float for dessert, giving each their own bottle of Abita Root Beer to pour... More

I travel a lot, have been stopping in Breaux Bridge over the past 11 years in route to Lafayette and or Baton Rouge, to enjoy dining at Cafe Des Amis on Sat Mornings as well as the Cajun music, and dancing.. I have told so many people about Cafe Des Amis & promoted what use to be ( in my opinion) a delicious dining experience... The food was always the bomb & plentiful. Today however, I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a dining experience.. And drove 3 1/2 hours for it.
I ordered the omlet au graten, with the andoulli sausage & cheese grits & a biscuit. I'm sorry to say in rating what was served, I would have to honestly give it a (zero)... The omlet was flat and over cooked until it was crusty,, and sorry to say, a piece of cheese slapped in the middle of it & tasteless to boot,, does not suffice for a good omlet my friend..... It was so pitiful, I think if it could have, it would've appologised to me for being served... The grits were also tasteless and cold, i had to ask the waitress to take them back and warm them up in the ( microwave).. The biscuit,,, well, , if your cook is making them from scratch, I hate to say this too, but he or she needs a different profession, because it's "really hard" (no pun intended) but true, to make a bad biscuit...
As far as the portions,, hummmm, maybe if you start serving on smaller plates it won't seem quite such an embarrassing presentation..
I hope you can pull a rabbit out of a hat and stay in business.. But judging from the experience I had today, it may take some prayer as well.
Disapointed Louisiana Lady
Are reservations accepted for Saturday morning breakfast? If not how hard is it to get a table during this time?
