Tacos and Beer has a slightly different take on Mexican food. They start you off with a bean soup rather than nachos and some of the other dishes are slightly out of the ordinary. I really like the shrimp tacos. I gave them an average rating because the service is spotty, particularly if you sit outside. A good place to... More

Wonderful food and great margaritas! Our service was excellent as well. My favorite Mexican food in Hammond.

We happened upon Tacos and Beer while travelling through Hammond one Thursday afternoon. Great little corner location with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. My fish tacos were the best and their Michelado (bloody mary mix, good mexican beer and other secret ingredients) is awesome. If you've never had one and like bloody marys, definitely worth trying and if you have experienced... More

So last night, my family and I walked in. No one greeted us. We sat at our table for 5 min. No one came to give us menus. Then in walks 2 girls and one of the waiters went to them. We were like are are kidding me?! This is what sucks about Hammond. They have these selfish college kids... More

Me and my best friend and his wife met a couple of friends of theirs for dinner at Tacos and Beer on Friday evening, September 23rd. The gentleman who appeared to be the Manager or at least the Manager on Duty, suggested we start off with a Gnarly Barley Brewing, "Peanut Butter Porter." This beer was definitely unique; however, would... More

Saturday night we desided to eat out somewhere new. My hubby loves mexican. So Tacos and beer sounded great. Simple little restaurant on a corner in downtown Hammond. We ordered a large margarita and a huge glass arrives with a drink big enough for two. My husband got the taco special. 12 tacos (street tacos) with his coice of 8... More

Really interesting, authentic Mexican food. Yes - you don't get complimentary chips and salsa (comment below) but we did get complimentary bowls of bean soup to start - and very good it was too. The portions are very generous. We started with La Botana, excellent flavours, but it was more than enough for three people - and we are quite... More

We tried this because it was recommended by a friend. We went on a weekday for lunch and it wasn't that crowded. We ordered chips and salsa since apparently they aren't complementary. After waiting 15 minutes our food was delivered and still no chips and salsa. We waved down our waiter who asked us if we still wanted them and... More

Tried to eat here tonight but was turned away. The sign on the door states that they were open until 10pm and this site lists that they are open until 10pm. I walked in at 7:50pm and was informed that they were closed. Customers walked in right ahead of me and were seated.
